You have to use the money to start your own business. You don't need to spend it all, but you cannot go over $250k. What's your idea?

That's not something many people can relate to, which is probably why you're getting crickets.
Dishwasher cabinets.
They're your cabinets, but also your dishwasher. Every day we waste upwards of 5-10 minutes moving our dishes to the dishwasher and then again to the cabinets but if they were the same entity it would cut the workload in half. Only an idiot wouldn't buy one. And once i've earned the necessary revenue i will expand my product line to include my next idea; toilet beds.

Haha, I love it!
I would do importing/exporting through Alibaba (in) and Amazon (out). I guess people are making tons doing this.
Plastics.
A bladder system used in ships to prevent oil spills.
Website/app where the gullible upload a photo and watch as you produce an oil painting paying per day.
Going to take a lot to develop a slick app and initially customer will be hard to part from their money.
An app that loads plans to build houses and directs builders on the most efficient way to cut lumber. The amount of lumber wasted when building a house is staggering. Much of it is due to the fact that lumber is purchased in bulk and builders just cut each piece to their needs without trying to save extra pieces. A big home builder could save tons on materials costs.

Publisher of fake news in Facebook.
Find even moderately decent location and put up bikini barista shop.
250000. Ain't gonna get far
This is a very, very easy question. If your only premise is, "I have some money," not, "I have an idea or some skills," then you buy a franchise. You'll have to finance it as well, but you're getting a cookie cutter business plan with national marketing that you can ride. You can make a fortune without being smart, just diligentl.

But this is investing.
You mean investing in others instead of yourself.

Most business don't start with 250k of capital. The failure rate is very, very business specific. Doctors, lawyers, and the like don't go out of business very often. World changing starts up on the other hand have something like a 85% failure rate (depends a bit on the definition of failure). Things like restaurants are in between.
Put it all on red.
