Any thoughts on the Montana race?
I know it's early, but excited to see action.
Interested to see how rest of conference action looks today. NAU running everyone at first meet in Flagstaff.
NAU meet results:
Weber State action:

Hard to say what teams are running hard during these meets.
Looks like NAU women will be very hard to beat.
Southern Utah and Idaho State involved with Utah Valley (WAC) and Westminster (D2) https://www.tfrrs.org/results/xc/12245.html
Northern Colorado was also involved this weekend and got smacked around by Colorado, Colorado St, Air Force, and Wyoming. Didn't win any of their duals in either gender
Looking at the Inland NW results, anybody have any insight as to course conditions/weather differences over last year?
Most teams look a bit slower, on average, than 2016. It's to the point that it seems there was an over-arching external reason. Anyone there that can shed some light?
Also, SUU generally holds out top runners at the season opener. Does anybody know who sat on their men's and women's teams?
It was very hot and there was still smoke in the air, course was flat, but very hot and dry.
You never know the length of any of these courses, but overall it seemed like pretty tough conditions.
SUU only ran 6 of their 15 listed on TFRRS for the women's side, and 9 of their 26 on the men's side. 13/15 that ran were freshmen or sophomores
Big weekend coming up. Should be the first view of a few full squads. As usual the Montana St meet should prove useful to sorting things out. Looks like they could see snow and mud up there!!
Montana State women are really good. Those transfers and freshmen have completely changed their team. Beside NAU, they might be the next strongest team in the conference.....
Idaho State men looked good.

Southern Utah men dominate.
Southern Utah women look good. Looks like a very fast course.

Eastern Washington had solid results on both sides.

Seems like the conference on the women's side is starting to catch up to the men's side and is even deeper.

Don't forget U of Idaho on the men's list. Maybe you don't feel they deserve it but I'd throw them in at a solid #4.
I believe Idaho State sat their #2 girl. Not sure if that changes your women's ranking at all.
University of Idaho is good on womens side. NAU, UI, and, MSU actually look pretty evenly matched for women. MSU and Idaho looked fairly similar against common opponents. Utah women are good and MSU did well against them. Even if Grayson Murphy had run, it would have been a relatively tight team battle between Utah and MSU.
Yes, and Idaho's women are absolutely worthy of being in the discussion here. I wouldn't put them as high as Mont St but still good. I would also consider Weber dropping out of that top 5, which honestly feels weird.

Put SUU's women a bit higher - like #3-4
