I am proud of both of the Nagalkerke boys and their improvement has been outstanding. I was wondering how much elgibility Scott has remaining and will he be coming home after his elgibility to train with the Hansons or will he reamain in Colorado. I hope you return as something special is going on here in Michigan however I can understand if you remain in Colorado as you have improved drastically there. Good luck and we will brag about you as if you are a michigander either way.
It is a rugged trip to Chadron up in Northwest Nebraska. Good luck to Nebraska-Kearney's men who are in a quest for their 6th straight indoor title
Both Scott and Mike have another full year.
What's up fire crotch, how ya doing buddy?
who keeps bringing this one up-let it go!
western state is a bunch of cheats. the only reason they have been so dominant is because of thier 35 year old imports. Sure this year they had some non imports in the team but usually theres very few true americans in there. I was disgusted to see foriegners running for them at nationals. Im sick of this. Rhumour has it they used to be dominated by south americans. What does this coach think. Does he actually have any pride in his team and what he does. In my opinion hes a complete jerk and a cheat. Western shouldnt be considered a fair force in cross when they have half of foriegn national teams on there side. Also they must be doing something illegal to get all those athletes to go somewhere like gunnison. Abaliene is just as bad if not worse. I cant believe these coaches can sleep well at night knowing they are forcing out hard working citizins like us and replacing them with bludgering foriegners who just waste our tax payers dollar and steal out medals. Try recruiting within this country you cheats, stop denying our athletes the right to be champions and aiding other countries. This will have a direct effect down the line when we have to face these athletes we trained in the Olympics. Have some pride and self respect coaches and if not self respect have some for the rest of us athletes.
is this guy for real?
he has got some very good points though. its true that many coahces abuse the current recruiting policies.
Chaaaawhoooooooo! Western cleans up at confrence
Hey BlaTanT
Wherever you went to school, you should get your money back!
Good call, blatant is a dumb ass. I think if I were making such an outrageous statement, I would at least attempt to write like an educated person.
you have got to be kidding me. This guy as well with all of the people who are arguing for foreigners to be banned are just looking for a way out of training in order to win. It seems like you would rather run 14:55 and be a national champion instead of run 13:55 and be second or third. It sounds like you are saying that the coaches around the nation OWE athletes something just because we are from America. Since when is that what this country about? Our country is based on competition, it happens everywhere, if you are getting the job done and making one entity better than the other, it doesn't matter where you are from you are secured a job, same with college athletics. I bet you are one of the guys that are on the recent Alistar bandwagon, but he isn't american. Does that make Arkansas a bunch of cheats? Foreign athletes has been apart of college sports ever since college sports have been around. Foreign athletes are just as beatable as running against other Americans. All you have to do is grow a pair and train. Only one kiwi was on the national team for Western, and the year before that there were three. That is less than half either year, look at ACU they ONLY had one american on their team and got KILLED by Western when they faced each other. In Slippery Rock, and Ashland. That right there should eliminate the myth that older foreign athletes are invincible. Granted these guys have a lot of experience under their belt, but they all are still human they put their pants on one leg at a time, and they face the same things that americans face as runners, they are still trying to improve and become better runners. In the olympic games are there diferent age categories? Nope so athletes would have to face older foreign runners there, is that fair? Quit making excuses and grow a pair!!!!!!!!!
Its not a matter of nationality. You are on a tangent that has nothing to do with the original post. Its a matter of 30-year-olds competing against 18-year-olds.
Forget about the Olympics, the post was regarding the NCAA. We're not talking about who makes the US Olympic team. That is truly the best of the best.... nationalities aside.
Imagine this. A runner who has been training his ass off in New Zealand for 7-8 years decides he wants to come to America and attend your rival high school. You are both freshmen. You are 15 and can run 15:45 for a 5K XC. He is 22 and can run 15 flat. He goes to state. You don't.
You hate that he beats you, but you still envy him because he is the only Freshman in the History of Washington Middle School who could buy beer in 8th grade.
Thats how stupid this is. The strength (mentally and physically) of the more experienced "older" athlete can not be denied and for those of you saying to grow some nuts: you are all a bunch of idiotas who can't look at the big picture.

What does this have to with the Western State Runners post you moron?
Why dont you all just shut up, yeah western has 2 old kiwis, and yeah they had a lot before them, none of you can run with their 20-21 yr old americans either so who cares, and BUDNUTS you are an idiot you are the only one crying, how was I crying when I was exaggerrated how stupid your complaining sounded?? Yes shoes and clothes are controllable variebles so is training, so control yours a little more and start running with the big boys rather than complaining with the rest.
I was done a long time ago....assy.
I was concurring with K@'s post about wishing safe travel to the teams traveling to the RMAC meet (of which Western is one). Nice job with the moron bit-you learn that on the board Mr. Non contributer.
For what it's worth, I agree with Blatantly wrong. Quit sniveling about running against 30 year olds and get on with it. If it wasn't that excuse, it would be another for those weak minded wussbag cry babies. Sack up, go train, and take your best shot, because that's what they are doing in Gunnison. Hell, they don't even have an indoor track and it gets damn cold up in the mountains. In most instances, it's not so much that they are older, it's just that they are tougher. They don't whine and make excuses, they just get it done. We should emulate their work ethic just as their AMERICAN TEAM MATES DO!!!!! Maybe that's why we get our asses handed to us on the Olympic and World Championship stages because we are too busy trying to make track and cc into a freakin age group championship. I don't recall this kind of bitching in the 70's BEFORE DI had an age limitation and an Olympic Silver medalist and former world record holder Filbert Bayi ran for UTEP(?). Salazar and Chapa didn't whine so why are you guys? Got news for the US, there are athletes of all sorts of ages in the Olympics and the World Championships. What will your sorry assed excuses be then?
