Showcasing the youngest Ingebrigtsen is fine but he could have been in the Dream Mile with world class opposition instead. 3:56 is incredible for a 16 year old. I have to wonder whether he'll ever have world class closing speed (he closed in about 58), but he will go sub 3:50. Back in the day, Norway had some great athletes. Kristiansen set world records and helped move women's distance running into the modern age. Rodal and Thorkildsen won medals.
Sorry to see this meet turn into this. Why bring in Semenya and the other two likely intersex athletes when the meet really lacked star power in the other events?
He closed in 56. 2:58 at the 1200, not 1209. He'll be fine.
