Awesome venue for a track meet, crowd is like 3 feet from lane 8.

The rules say she can run and so she will. Africans had nothing to do with that decision.

Amen!
I feel Silas running here means he's essentially given up hope of making the Kenyan team. Looking forward to seeing what kind of shape Souleiman is in.

No, we just respect people more.
and if she has a y chromosome would the mens race not be more suitable?
Why do most international women think 1:59/2:00 is acceptable? So slow.
Niyonsaba's bib was on upside down.
I really cannot believe no-one told her, I mean she had to go through warmup and everything. Does she maybe not speak english so she didn't know? But more likely because you can't really see your own bib after putting it on.
At first I thought maybe it was some kind of protest but her back bib was right.
She seems like a happy warrior though, this is a silly distraction.
As a side note I don't like how the commentators are always saying Caster doesn't look like she is working hard - when you look at the slow-mo she is always shaking really hard and her jaw quivering with each stride,. Niyonsaba was almost the same except she was using the "forced smile technique" I've seen some elites use to deal with strain/pain (most famously Radcliffe) - but isn't that what most elites strive for, to be working hard but not look strained?

Indeed. Without the top three women's 800m would be currently very weak.

Schippers retroactively disqualified.
Jake Wightman takes the 1500! 3:34, nice win for him (PR? I assume)
Why wasn't Rudisha in the mens 800m today? I saw the three manly men were racing 800m so I thought he would too.
