Might have been the smarter choice, for sure.
For all we know they'd already cleared it via the DQ and Georgia was just trying to pull some SEC shite.
The most important thing to me is that the athlete was not injured. Just like in the NFL everyone hates to see injuries, in track we hate to see falls ruin races, and at that speed...lucky the athlete wasn't injured. An Olympian at that and a possible future World or Olympic team member again for the US.
