I agree...there are some REALLY strange vibes that you'll get when you are in Utah.

The most famous runner in history except maybe Bolt
LOL. Pre isn't even on the top 10 list of most famous runners in history.
Top ten most famous? Yes. About half of all running movies have been made about him. Top ten greatest? No.
The Pine Barrens in NJ. They even have their own cryptid.

Gotta be that place in Montana that elected congressman the day after he assaulted someone.
Place in Montana? It was the entire state of Montana.
Frazier Par, California

Since the Pine Barrens are so close to Atlantic City, I'll lump them together and say South Jersey gets my vote.
Orcas Island without a doubt!

San Francisco. Despite being beautiful and economically vibrant it's like every bad idea entertained by any nutjob is put front and center there. I think it's the place where weirdos from other parts of the country end up when they run out of gas.
Plus it leads the charge in pretending that 1960s counterculture is still countercultural.
Huh? Honestly - this is rambling nonsense. What "bad ideas" are we talking about?

Haha Utah is pretty weird.
But I nominate Aransas Pass, Texas. Weirdest place and weirdest people that I've ever encountered. Streets are roamed by diseased dogs and everyone lives in smelly old trailers full of cats.
East Saint Louis
Rochester. Everyone who lives there seems to hate it but never leaves.
+1 to some of the towns in remote Utah. SLC is really normal and cool city, but those tiny towns out in the middle of nowhere give off a very weird vibe.
i.e.
-- major 4-lane highway running thru but speed limit is 20 mph
-- no people in site, no noise
-- the only business are a dollar general, LDS church, and coal power plant in the distance
-- feel like something bad would happen if you stop to get gas or whatever

You aren't kidding. Abandoned ocean front casinos and crackheads... its f'n weird.
How 'bout Asbury Park then?
Yeah, I was going to say Trona, CA which has always struck me as a weird town. In addition, we just visited Trona Pinnacles, right outside of town, which was used in Planet of The Apes.
So there.

Trona is a good one - time just stopped there. Although there aren't enough people left to rank way up there.
I think there are tons of tiny towns that are bizarro - I'll throw out Garberville, CA in Humboldt county. If we're counting cities with some population, I'll nominate Redding, CA. Weird weird vibe there.
Slab City. Google it
