Anybody else out there?
I have Facebook. I've never gone near Instagram or Snapchat. I was on Twitter very briefly--a day or two--and the 140-character thing, and what people were doing with it (attitudinizing, mostly, without any effective content, reflective awareness, or sequential thought) made it seem like a huge waste of time. Certainly it's a bad place to share actual ideas, although it's a pretty good place to share "ideas," such as "Ugh! Can't stand shallow pppl!! I couldn't be less surprised that our current president has made Twitter his thing.
I've got a couple of channels on YouTube--the first started in early 2007--and periodically upload instructional videos. I've got a total of more than 600 videos between both channels. So I guess that's my social medium.

Nothing good can come out of that.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Internet message boards, like letsrun, are social media.
Everybody should at least have a facebook account they check regularly for notifications. Nothing is worse when trying to organize events & there's always the odd loner who doesn't have facebook & nobody knows where they live or how to get in contact with them. Back in the day when planning a class reunion we'd look someone up in the phone book, but now nobody has their info in a phone book.
Plus when planning events it's helpful to get a head count & party goers can say "yes" on the event page in facebook. Of course now you have to call or email the non-facebook loner & hope actually check email or their voicemail. Often they don't.
So non-facebook & non-social media users, thanks for being a selfish pain in the butt. You're making the world less productive.
My social structure consists of me, my mom and my slop-bucket in the basement.

Perfect! This place is definitely anti-social and self feeds on those elements.
I did Facebook for a few years but dropped out. Stopped blogging about three years ago (90% of it was about running). Don't have twitter, instagram, or linkedin.
I just participate in a few running forums. This one anonymously because there are so many jerks and creeps here.

Maybe, just maybe, they have no interest in your lame "events".

Really, who's interested in anyones Facebook postings?
Oh they do. Because of all people, they're the ones who complain afterwards they weren't invited or didn't know about it, & then hold a grudge for 10 years.
Zero, none. Even though I am handy, I use YouTube as a learning tool for more involved house projects.
As for selfies, they are the most arrogant form of self-expression that I've ever seen and I am 37.
I see women in cars "ALL THE TIME!!!!!!" taking pictures of themselves at lights with some stupid look on their faces trying to be cool, and then they post it on "whatever". Then they wait for responses and likes as they need this to make themselves feel important.
Taking a picture of yourself and posting it for responses is one of the most insecure things you could do, yet I'm sure there are many more.
NO, I don't do those social media things and my life is more fulfilled because of it. Thank you for asking.
Now bring on the trolls and nutjobs as I won't be checking into responses on my post anyways;)
No, most likely they just aren't into reunions Mr. Wheeler and never wanted to be contacted anyways. The one holding a grudge sounds like it may have been you. I know many people who don't go to reunions, from the 5, 10 and now 15. I've never heard one complain, ever, after 3 reunions. Go if ya want to, don't if ya don't. No big deal.

None here and thankful for it. As far as I can tell social media proves that people are no damned good.

Dude, ever heard of email? Or the mail system?
My FB is so bare/minimal that AirBNB could not verify my identity by crawling my FB profile. Made me proud.
Agreed. People make up such lame excuses for going along with the crowd. There are more ways to get pictures to someone than using Facebook.

It's fine if you don't have or want social media. But the people who are somehow proud of that fact and believe that it makes them better than those who do...are just as deluded and pathetic as the people who obsessively use social media.

+1.
This forum is infested with topics that are commonly found on social media anyway.
No, it's that you are one of the people who are proud of having FB and can't handle people saying that they don't because you have guilt and embarrassment for having it. Don't project upon others and they won't project upon you. So just because FB exist someone thinks they are better because they don't use it? That's moronic dude!

Sir,
I have e-mail, I have a telephone plugged into the wall. I have internet access. I have an AM/FM radio. I have a CD player. I have no television. I'll leave it to someone else to determine whether I have social media, but I have no face book, snap chat twitter, or the rest of it. I got a cell phone in December, 2016 only because it became impossible to find a pay phone when I travel. I've used it less than half a dozen times.
Really, the arrogance of some people is striking. I don't owe it to you or anyone else to have a face book account. You can call me to invite me to a reunion. You can send me an e-mail. You can not invite me. It's your choice. I have no interest in getting on face book to look at a picture of what you had for breakfast.
By the way, it used to be that when I planned to meet a friend, we'd agree on a date, time and place, and the friend would show up. In recent years, they tell me it's my responsibility to carry a cell phone so when they decide to be half an hour late, they can call me while I am standing somewhere waiting for them.
I deleted all my social media about a week ago and it's been great. (Instagram, facebook, and snapchat). It was tough at first but keeps me off my phone and allows me to be more productive.

People who don't have Facebook are in contact with their real friends in the world.
