So what is to be done in the case of this runner? That's a lot of verbiage and no result.

Uhh oh.
Generally I don't.
So I just checked our twitter.
Our tweet said, "This biological male just won the two events in the girls division at the Connecticut state meet. #insanity" and it had a picture of Ms. Yearwood. It didn't identify her by name.
So it is pretty abstract, but not as abstract as it could be.
I think it should say "A biological male just won two events in the girls division at the Connecticut state meet." and not have a picture. You don't even need the #insanity has tag. It speaks for itself. That gets the point across without making it as personal. At the same time, the kid is a state champion so scrutiny is going to come with this.
So I'll delete it.
Now you can do the same on Facebook.
Implying that a child is ruining women's sports. Make your case without plastering a student's face all over the internet.
There's not even an article that goes with it. It's a picture of the student and a link to your gross message board. How lazy are you?
Then, your post says "no treatment" yet we've concluded that the athlete slowed down by like .6 in the 100 over the course of a month of so. I bet you did 0 research (any phone calls? Emails sent? I highly doubt it) about the topic before posting on it.
Great investigative journalism, men. You continue to be the gold standard of nothing...
Both of his "state champion" times would've DFL'd if he ran in the boys races, as he should've.

This is a joke. Are people stupid? Do sports administrators in CT not understand why we have women's sports? We have women's sports because biological females aren't on average nearly as strong/fast, etc as biological males. To allow someone who is biologically male to compete in women's sports simply because they identify as a woman is absurd.
The solution is simple. Require hormone treatment.
Whoa.
You should never suggest, let alone require, a child to take drugs to compete.
The simpler solution is to have two classes of competition - open and female.
That allows transgender athletes of any orientation to compete in the open sections.
If they are good enough to win there, then they aren't good enough to win.
Wow LRC really taking the moral high ground after starting yet another thread to allow 40 year old men to shame transgender kids.
This has very little effect on most people on these boards. The personal attacks are disgusting. The click baiting way LRC promotes this garbage on their website/twitter is disgusting. At the end of the article her mother was quoted as saying, "But my counter to that is: 'Why not?' She is competing and practicing and giving her all and performing and excelling based on her skills. Let that be enough. Let her do that and be proud of that."
Ya'll should take that advice and just watch the events to see how fast folks go without feeling the need to argue about things that don't pertain to you.
Correction-
If they are NOT good enough to win there, then they aren't good enough to win.
The very real backlash...
FYI look at the other results. The wind slowed down most times.
Prelim Final
12.89 12.66 -1.6
12.85 12.83 -1.6
13.04 12.93 -1.6
13.28 13.17 -1.6
13.01 13.18 -1.6
13.32 13.30 -1.6
13.36 13.35 -1.6
13.35 13.41 -1.6
The only athlete with a significant drop from prelims to final...
I'm upset that Weldon deleted anything.
I don't think there is anything wrong with putting up the picture of someone who is giving interviews to the press after winning two state titles.
I used the picture for a reason - to make a point. It's long been said "A picture is worth a thousand words." Since twitter limits me to 140 characters, I don't have time to say this a transgender person who hasn't received hormonal treatment. The picture makes that pretty obvious.
I know she wasn't on treatments bout a month ago because the article in the middle of the season said she hadn't received any. Yes, you are correct, I guess it's possible she got treatment in the last month. But that's really besides the point. The fact that she was allowed to compete without treatment in the first place is abusrd. One month of treatment isn't enough.
I'd imagine it's more likely the results of a meet being hand times versus FAT or wind.
How am I shaming anyone?
The tweet said "This biological male just won the two events in the girls division at the Connecticut state meet. #insanity"
I mean what I wrote is factual. THe post on facebook was no different.
How am I shaming her? Why isn't she proud of her picture being in the paper announcing her accomplishment? Most kids are dying for an article to be written about them and I've had a number of distance runners tell me it was a real honor to get first noticed by LRC when the young.
I'm going to see if Weldon will let me send out another tweet.
I'd rather be correct and unpopular that political correct and decimating women's sports.
In other news, I have two very confused boys 10:20 and 10:25 3200m runners who next year will be in the hunt for a state championship.

I agree. I don't want to force her to get treatment. But I do think she has to get treatment if they are going to let her compete in the women's category.
I like your suggestion the best. It's the easiest way to avoid lawsuits and what not. Have an open category for sports and then narrowly define the 2nd category.
But this young lady won't be getting the press and attention if she's in the open category as she'll be getting crushed.

Rojo here's the problem with CT right now. Everybody saw this gender vs. bio problem coming.
The CIAC said, "crap we don't want to deal with this." So they kicked it to the schools to decide. Now you have the schools saying "crap we don't want to be the ones to face the SJW's we'll let it go?" The coach doesn't care because he's getting an amazing athlete that can win.
People are afraid to make the right, but tough, choice for fear of the very real backlash they will receive. I don't blame the child at all for wanting to compete. But it is ultimately up to the grown-ups to make the right choice for everyone. And in this area, the grown-ups have failed.
this is about right - almost all these problems on campuses are caused by administrators too terrified of SJWs to act like adults and do their jobs.
That said, I'm not sure how brave I'd be if keeping this athlete out of girls' sports could cost me my job.
Oh! I almost forgot. As of May 6th. She was not using blocks for the 200m. When she ran a 25.75.
So maybe she's using blocks now and I'm wondering since her coach took this long to get her into blocks maybe he has no idea how to teach them?
The left needs to force Boston to make qualifying times equal for genders too! I shouldn't have to work and train when I can just run 20 minutes slower and still qualify.

Well, most people don't run in order to get press and attention.
And plenty of kids simply get crushed in races but still like the opportunity to participate.
People supporting transgender athletes are not so much interested in them winning but having the opportunity to compete.
The open category would give everyone an opportunity to compete.
And the female category would give girls the chance to compete and win on an even level.
If transgender athletes are looking for the same even level afforded to natural born girls, then they may need new categories. But it would be a small meet for them.
I don't want to see transgender people discriminated against, but I am with you in that I do not want to see natural born girls in an unfair disadvantage.
And I do not feel that hormone treatment is the solution or can be fairly measured to even out any advantage.
A girl taking hormones to be a boy causes a whole other set of issues of chemical advantage.
My solution:
Open category
Natural female category
Anyone taking drugs for any reason has to be subject to all anti doping PED rules.
Some may have to make a choice between hormones to change their gender or competing. Sorry.

Dear Rojo,
You are a writer that regularly sets a very low bar for journalism. You now recommend requiring a child to undergo hormone treatment as a simple solution.
This is a terrifyingly irresponsible position.

people need to stop blaming 'the left' for this sort of thing.
tell you what - let's blame 'the right' when cops shoot unarmed AAs and then lie to cover it up.
ok? fair?
I hear Edward Cheserek AKA King Ches actually prefers to be called Queen Ches and will be signing with Nike as a female distance star. Women on the world stage would never allow something like this am I right? Regardless of what the athletes in his yes I said it HIS events say I would have an issue with this as a parent to a female. He is not a female and if anyone disagrees would you let this he/she go into a locker room with your daughter and shower at the same time in a community shower? If you answer yes there is something truly wrong with you. This dude looks like he would pony up well in the NFL Combine and needs to race with the boys. The US is being to lenient with this crap.

You're right, simple solution is he competes as a boy and if that hurts his feelings, too bad.
The only thing that makes this guy a female is his thought process and personal beliefs. A track race is not determined by how we think. It's determined by who PHYSICALLY RUNS the fastest. Physically this person is a male. No one can disagree with that can they? So physically a MALE is competing against girls.
The only way this guy can physically become more female is by taking hormones. And since, as I just explained, a track race is determined by physically running, hormones are the only way that this becomes less of an issue. Right now as I see it, and I suspect more see it, is that the girls he competes against are getting cheated. MANY girls are sacrificing for this guy.
