I'll assume that you're Canadian and looking intentionally at the Canadian site/pricing. In the US, the GoRuns are USD 100 and USD 130 for the GoMebs. I agree that they're not cheap, but that seems to me to be in line with other brands. One of the nice things about Skechers a few years ago was that they actually were somewhat cheap: typically US$ 80 for the GoRuns. They apparently have done well enough to raise their prices to match other brands.More generally to the thread, I'm a 30+ year runner at a reasonably high level (late 40s now...now run about 60 miles per week, sometimes more) and during those years I have tended to have a favored brand that has changed every 2-4 years depending on latest offerings or changes to my favorite shoes. So I have a lot of experience over the years in: Adidas, Asics, Nike, Saucony, Mizuno, Fila, Brooks and now Skechers. Because on occasion I have experimented with a new brand to see how I like them, I have also owned at least 2-3 pairs (and sometimes more) of: Hoka, Pearl Izumi, Newton, New Balance and Altra. Reading that list, it probably would have been easier to list the brands that I haven't worn a lot of!With that said, I'm wearing the current Skechers GoRun exclusively in training now. I wear them without the optional insole -- this is the current model, which is the GoRun 5. I love them. They're somewhat minimal, fairly light and somewhat soft, but not too much of any of those for my now-aging legs. They're also pretty flexible, which I like. Until 2 years ago I had mostly worn the Saucony Kinvara for day-to-day training for a few years, but Saucony ruined the shoe for me. After some experimenting around, I found the GoRun and so far, so good.To each his/her own, but Skechers are great for me.
Just wow... wrote:
Most of their performance running shoes are well over $100. The GoMeb stuff is $165-175. That's ridiculously pricey.
