Maybe it's just me, but I really don't think North Central will win this year. Yah I know they return a ton of firepower, way more than any other school, but their performance at outdoor Nattys was very disappointing. I'm putting my money on another school, like MIT or Loras. idk I guess will see what happens
You're putting money on MIT or Loras? I can't even tell if this is a troll or not so if so, +1. Does Loras return a single guy under 15 minutes in the 5k? NCC is the hands-down favorite unless their entire top 7 somehow gets hit by a bus on a run or something. Look at this:
Dru Patel: 14:15/ 2nd indoor 5k/ 18th at nationals in xc as soph last year
Al Baldonado: MIA the last 2 track seasons but was the top freshman 2 years ago and 15th this last year as a soph
Zach Hird: 3:52/14:42 in track/ 24th at nationals in xc as soph
These 3 are the 5th, 6th, and 9th returners from cross.
Nolan McKenna- 8:27/14:22
Dan O'Keefe- 9:07 steeple/14:57/ 48th at xc last year
Matt Norvell- 14:50/30:13
Steve Sismelich- 14:58/31:30
This may be one of the most talented teams ever (based on track PRS) going into a cross country season. 3 returners of the top 10 returners, a 14:22 guy, a 30:13 guy, and a 9:07 steepler who was top 50 last year. Not to mention NCC's random ability to probably pull a transfer or a freshman in to the mix. Now, more than likely, 2 of these guys will probably be injured and miss nationals, but I don't think another team will even be within 100 points of them.
