I think he falters this time. Just because that's what happens to everyone eventually.

Happens very rarely but I think Rio was that chance for Mo.
just gotta squeeze the L-C bag, hell be fine
who can beat Mo?
Gebremeskel ran 12:46 in 2012 but it didn't make a difference.
Mo is very likely a 12:45 runner (approximately) with 3:28 speed. No one is beating him unless something goes drastically wrong. He's not a tactical buffoon like so many others.
Thank goodness he signed up with Alberto, am I right? He's won the last nine global championship races at 5 and 10k that he's competed in.
2011 (2nd 10) 5 won
2012 10/5 won
2013 10/5 won
2015 10/5 won
2016 10/5 won
Mo just has to win two more a few months from now, and then he can be on the roads full time collecting appearance fee cheques. Salazar may have known Galen since high school through to his AR performances, however Farah is truly the Golden Goose.
has jamin broke 15 yet?
I always think about his 2012 loss to Jeilan and think that if he had that win, he could be a quadruple double WC and double double WC.
However, I do truly believe that that 10k loss taught him the last tactical lesson he needed to learn. Watch that race now and see how it plays out vs. how he has won all the other titles since.
Brilliant.
Mo is just lucky to be in a low point era of track long distance runners. It is no coincidence that he became prominent around 2011, when Bekele had injuries and Geb moved even earlier to the roads, and Kipchoge ect. He is an opportunist, and cocky as well. Yet he can be beaten, and it happened before. When he is forced into a fast steady pace (Ayana's tactic and not pacemaking like in Eugene) he lacks the kick at the end. In Eugene they were paced fast (though not fast enough) and then they slowed down, so he could still kick. If there were 12:45-50 runners in this era, he would be smoked, but I'm not sure there are. And by the way, I say that if Bekele or Kipchoge went to London 2017, they both would smoke him in the 5k and in the 10k without a doubt.
Bekele couldn't beat him in 2012, what makes you think he can beat him 5 years later.
This is how to beat Farah:
Based on this, and the fact that Kipchoge is even in better shape now, Farah would be smoked by him in the 5k, and no doubt that in the 10k as well.
And this- Farah has no kick left forced by an even injured Bekele into a fast steady pace.
I doubt if Farah would move to the road. Man can't handle long fast steady paces
Farah is in the same age as Bekele and Kipchoge is even two years youger which points out that Farah could be prominent only because the field was left open when the better two moved to the roads and one of them had consistent injuries. Also I think, and I could be wrong, that the track is becoming less popular and the marathon rises, so there are many young runners that could have smoked Farah on the track, but went straight to the roads in their early or mid 20's
As you know, I have always said Farah is good. Maybe he got beat by Centrowitz, and Gebrhiwet, and Soi, and Bekele, and Kamworor, but he usually wins at his main events when he races. Maybe he didn't used to be so good, through most of his 20's going 13:09 at best, maybe he turned unnaturally skinny, maybe he trained with a shady Nike project and then out of testers' reach in Ethiopia, but still. He's a competitive guy.
Maybe he has a weird voice, and maybe he makes stupid heart gestures and a ridiculous prayer ritual after races (I'm all for religious tolerance but sports is NOT religion) and maybe he said "that's what champions do" and maybe there's lots of other reasons why fans dislike Mo Farah but the fact is he's pretty good and deserves to have a few fans. Maybe not everybody but you shouldn't be so hard on the ones he does have, he deserves them.
Did you ever think why his fans are mainly Brits?
Why doesn't he have fans globally? Unlike Bekele and Geb and Kipchoge and other.
In one race there were 4 sub 12:50s. This was 2012, the year mo won double gold for the first time. All of those guys were there then and some still compete now.
Don't be absurd.

Maybe all his fans are drunken Brits with disgusting rotten teeth. Maybe he hasn't achieved the astounding things to gain worldwide adoring fans like Geb. Maybe he can't get near a WR to get the credibility of a Bekele. Maybe there will never be a special Nike sub 2 project just for him like there was for Kipchoge.
But he's pretty good, I always say. Give him his due.

Roger Federer failed to make a semi-final in the first of his seventeen grand slam tournaments. Then BOOOM!! Wins EIGHTEEN of them!!.
I DO NOT THINK SO.
Imagining someone saying this out loud. 😂

I agree. He might falter as some say, but it doesn't look like it will be this year. The Kenyans and Ethiopians will engage in some 'severe' team tactics in London.
You have to admit, he has discipline and knows how to win races. Asbel Kiprop ruined himself by chasing times. That said, you only need one global gold and then you should chase WRs. If not, you are a coward.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
