Headband, always.
Headband, always.
I always wonder about threads that are 3 years old and someone just keeps the conversation without skipping a beat.
But, I do like wearing hats on runs, and I support the cheap hat theory.
I sometimes wear a hat

If not a hat, any other recommendations on keeping sweat out of eyes?
I bought a dozen hats for $1 each at the dollar store three years ago. I always wear on when running for sun, rain and sweat control. I still have half of them to trash and then toss. Best buy I have made.
Usually wear a Hoka hat I got for free from Athletic.net. It's a good hat and doesn't have an annoying strap system to change the size, just a kind of bungee cord/clip system that other brands should really switch to for running hats.
I wear one in summer for exactly this reason. Some hats do a great job of wicking away perspiration. I don’t generally like Nike clothing but their hats seem to work well
Only if it is raining or snowing.

I use this to absorb sweat and block sun at the same time. Looks a little goofy but works great for running for basically the same reasons that it works for cycling.
Headsweats makes good ones. Featherweight synthetic fabric. They make thicker and longer ones for the winter, too.

I sweat pretty heavily on a long run, so I've tried several solutions.
Sweat Gutr: It's a silicon strip held on the head by elastic at the back. It works like a gutter to keep the sweat out of your eyes.
Halo Headband: I use this under my helmet when cycling. I wouldn't ride without it. It's thin about about 1 1/2 inches wide.
Visors: I usually wear a visor instead of a cap because they are cooler than a cap. They're also a little easier to tuck in the small of your back or carry if you decide don't want to wear it.
I still wear visors. In spite of that, I'm going in next week to get a fast-appearing lesion on my forehead removed. I've had several benign lesions removed and one skin cancer that, while not serious, required a lot of time. They slice off the lesion by layers and you have to wait 15-20 minutes to see if they got all the cancer. If not, they do it again... and again. Then, they stitch it up, leaving you with a permanent but small scar.
I find that visors are cooler than a cap, but it depends on your hair color and how you wear the cap.
I like to wear a hat when it's raining as I hate the feeling of the rain hitting my head and hair. The visor on the hat also keeps the rain out of my eyes.
Oh, from the only title can understand your problem. It'll be easier to ask, "do you like to wear a hat while running?" but I need to confess that yes, I wear hats. It isn't the best part of running, but so proper. Don't be overlooked and do the same, summer doesn't relent you and with happiness give a sunstroke. But you can choose a suitable hat for you (as I pick these hats headwearhut.com). And to protect your eyes also use sunglasses. To more comfort, I tied a string to the temples of glasses.
