No, your beliefs are not thought out at all. An ostrich with its head in the sand; hear no evil, sees no evil, speaks no evil.
The guy asked for some data to back up the claim that people die more often if they don't use bottled oxygen. Not exactly an ostrich with its head in the sand. And your follow on hear no evil etc. Has nothing to do with an ostrich in any case. Talk about a poorly thought out post.
I wonder if people here also need a scientific study that wiping your ass is a good idea.
Still not seeing any evidence from Jornet that he actually made it to the top. Anyone want to ask him and his team for the GPS data?
6 people died this weekend on Everest. They might have even been using oxygen.
I went to a presentation given by Reinhold Messner and one of the first things he said was getting to the summit should not be the primary goal, but getting back to Base Camp alive should be.............ponder that.
He was the first man to climb all 14 of the 8000+ meter peaks without oxygen.
They're still at the mountain. Not a lot of internet up there...
Seb Montaz was filming. There are feature films of his past summit records, and this is the final part of the Summits of my Life project.

Summits of my Life sounds like a lame Nickelback song.
Killian could run sub 13:30 if he trained moderately. He's immensely talented. I understand this fact is hard to swallow for some 14:40 types on here.
Max King should go for the record with no shirt and a bib pinned to his chest.
Also, the North side record is 16:45, so 26 hours is not even close.

I shared no opinions other than that it is hard to interview dead people so you can't isolate "how many died due to not having bottled oxygen". That is not uninformed - it is scientifically supported.
You need to go for a run.
Why would you bring up interviewing them? They either did or did not have bottled oxygen with them. Your claims are not well thought out.
Your claim was that I have an uninformed opinion. That was not well thought out. Please point out where I gave an uninformed opinion.

Provide one stat or source that shows a greater percentage of people dying that didn't use oxygen. Otherwise you are just spouting an uninformed opinion. You made the claim so prove it or go away.

Try biking 8000 miles to Everest, solo climb without oxygen and then bike back.
Then died from an 8 foot fall while bouldering. Crazy.
He died while trad climbing, pulling his gear and fell 70+ feet.

I was not familiar with this athlete Jornet, or Goran Kropp, until this thread. What amazing individuals.

Actually laughed at this. Thanks.

Oh, I think we butt-hurt a manly "no-oxygen" he-man. Do you really think we are impressed if someone climbs with no oxygen? It's stupid and dangerous. Do you also want me to show you that wearing seatbelts saves lives?

No I didn't ask for that. Why are you changing the subject? And letting the insults fly? No facts to back up your opinion?
