They'll also have an article on being sexually harassed while running in a race, so it balances each other out.
RW is a joke. By this time next year they will probably have a make-up article for men.
Did they consult Shannon Rowberry? She uses inch thick make up, she would be the WR record holder without it.

Caitlyn could give a few tips.

That's funny. They do have somewhat of a "Huffington Post" type credibility at this point.
Thanks so much for the laugh!
I don't understand what's so funny. You're not the audience, big deal. Grow up. You're a bunch of five year olds.
Is there any advice on how to paint your toenails while running?

Bart Yasso's the only good thing about RW. But muppet's gotta muppet.
Most of their articles are about pooping ... Why don't they ever talk about actual running?

Why? Do you put you're makeup on in a different fashion?
Actually, about half of their articles are about beer.
You do know that Runnersworld is mainly trying to appeal to a broad-based. mainstream demographic right? Not just the basement dwellers that inhabit LRC.
I know Bart Yasso is old school, but he is - by far - not the only good thing. Amby Burfoot, Scott Douglas, and the young Alex Hutchinson all write regularly for RW - and write well. I'd even put the occasional articles by Fleshmann over Yasso. No offense to Yasso.

Guess what? Runner's World knows you're not their target audience and doesn't care what you think. It's a periodical for more casual running enthusiasts, not so much for those of us so into running that we post on online forums. As an "old man runner" I'm guessing you don't wear makeup at any time so why does it bother you so much if some people want to? I promise there are plenty of runners (male and female) who care about what they look like on race day. I actually like RW but I understand it for what it is and appreciate that it gives running more exposure both as a sport and a lifestyle activity.
Hot take! Not everything in RunnersWorld is super serious training discussion for elite runners. Wow. You have enlightened me. That take has never been shared on LetsRun before. Thanks.
I had Runners World from back when it was called Distance Running News.
What a difference. Profiles on regional runners as well as world class.
Articles on all the National Championship road and cross-country races.
I lost them in a flood.
I used to randomly pick a magazine from the early 70's and just enjoy.
Now, there isn't even a reason to thumb through.
Perhaps it's not aimed at you. wrote:

I have mixed feelings about this. I get that the magazine is aimed at the casual runner, but I also think that there has been a an annoying "pinkwashing" of running in the popular press. A lot of the articles traffic in hyper feminine stereotypes without getting at the real issues. A lot of people here are annoyed at articles geared towards women, and some of that is plain sexism. But I also suspect that people are responding to the stereotypically girly tone of much of the popular reporting on women's running.

Featuring Donald Trump! That would be awesome from so many angles.
