Its just a matter of time.
The real problem here is lack of ethics--people like the above quoted poster, who support drugging as long as it doesn't quite exceed the limit, instead of opposing drugging.
What about someone opposing athletes with lots of money? Like athletes who have money to train in the mountains, get access to top facilities etc vs those who have no money and have to train on busy roads?
Wouldn't that have an unfair advantage too?
If you answer yes, then where do you draw the line, ethically, of what's cheating and what is not cheating?
Or are eating healthy, taking multivitamins, protein shakes, training at altitude on nice quiet gravel roads all ethically ok in your book?

"should be banned from competition for at least 4 years."
Based on what evidence?

Nike loser.
This isn't about Kara and never was. Does Ritz just want publicity also? Salazar and Nike are scumbag cheats and it will come out in a way that even a Nike stooge like you cannot deny.
Galen and Mo should start boxing up their medals now so they can be mailed back to their rightful owners. Both are cheats.
It's frustrating, isn't it, to want them to box up their medals, but they never have to because they won them fair and square.
It's funny you quote the Code, yet you forget the awesomeness contained in the following exchange between Hank and Walt in our favorite Drama TV show ever created, Breaking Bad:
At Hank’s request, he and Walt have some whiskey at the patio table. Hank adds some Cuban cigars he got from an FBI agent. Walt says, “I was under the impression that these were illegal.â€
“Yeah, well. Sometimes forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest, doesn’t it?â€
Walt: “It’s funny, isn’t it? How we draw that line?â€
“What line is that?â€
“Legal – illegal. Cuban cigars – alcohol. You know, if we were drinking this in 1930, we’d be breaking the law. Another year, we’d be okay. Who know what will be legal next year?â€
“You mean like pot?â€
“Yeah – like pot. Or whatever.â€
“Cocaine? Heroin?â€
“I’m just sayin’ – it’s arbitrary.â€
“Well, in the lockup you hear a lot of guys talkin’ like that. ‘Hey, man, why’d you bust me for these fourteen bales of ganja? Sometimes stuff is legal that shouldn’t be. Friggin’ meth used to be legal. I’m glad they came to their senses on that one, huh?â€
“Yeah.â€

There are not "dozens and dozens" of people on this board who support Salazar and find the allegations to be meaningless. There are 4-5, and they're all Nike employees posting under different names. And even they don't believe what they're writing--they're just being paid to do so.
I'm not a nike employee. I believe in what I am writing. I do find the allegations to be meaningless.
I could not disagree with you more on this subject. I challenge you, and everyone else who thinks Galen is cheating, to man up and say it to his face. Not just heckling at a meet, like a p,u,s,s,y but actually walk up to him and have a calm, non-threatening discussion: "hey I think you're violating the spirit of the sport and here's why..." and let him respond. And post it on Youtube.
You will look like a fool.
Or another option, which you may not have considered, is to run faster. You could go out and try to beat him yourself. It's a simple concept, really. Heck, you could take all the meds he's taking and then go and race him and you might even beat him! Because those meds are what makes someone run fast, right?
You see, people don't like the simple answers. You've got to make a grand story out of it to make them feel reassured that the universe makes sense, and "fair." Kind of like Religion. Or the question of what is our purpose on this planet.
All of you who claim Galen is cheating fail to see the evidence that opposes your view. For example, the article states: "They said he (Salazar) provided or helped gain access to prescription-dose vitamin D; calcitonin; ferrous sulfate; Advair; testosterone; and various thyroid medications..........................
MANY OF THE DRUGS HAVE NO PROVEN BENEFITS FOR RUNNERS."
Notice that last sentence? I bet you conveniently forgot to read that one. The point is, this article, along with the others published on this topic are throwing a red herring, getting you to pay attention to ostensibly important details, making you think it's the "smoking gun" when in reality, it's just trivial.
I can feel your frustration, guys and gals. I recently went for a run and at 30 years old am starting to see how hard it is to stay in the same shape I was 10 years ago. It's a harsh reminder of how hard running is. Many of you know how hard running is. So sometimes it seems unfathomable that someone like Galen can run so fast. "There's got to be a catch," you say to yourself. But I hope you, like me come to terms with reality. I thought it was ironic how so many runners on this website posted how hard the boston marathon was, the hills, the heat, etc. I think that makes Galen's run even more impressive, that in spite of the rolling hills, the wind, whatever, he still ran fast and earned 2nd place.
How is that not inspiring?
Oh, you still think he cheated? Guess we will disagree on this subject forever.
You are correct. There is no way that I would stand face to face and call Rupp a cheater. But only because it would be like calling a retarded child a retard. It is not his fault.
I have and will continue to call out Alberto to his face. He had me removed from Hayword in 2012. He most certainly did not want to go.
ok--well that's ridiculous. everyone is responsible for their own actions.
It's time Ritz makes a statement. Just something to clear the air. He's going to get questions otherwise.

Why? When Kara talked to the press everyone called her an attention whore.
Ritz has talked with USADA and is willing to take a suspension if that is what is deemed necessary for his actions. He has not lawyered up. He didn't know he was doing wrong as Alberto promised him he wasn't. He is not asking for any breaks and now realizes he was wrong to be so trusting of a slime ball. What else could he say that wouldn't bring out the critics?
there was no evidence of any of this--especially that he's 'willing to take a suspension'.
Agree with all of this except that Ritz most certainly has a lawyer. You don't testify under oath without one.

Dear friends, family and supporters of Tara:
As many of you have read by now, an article was recently published on the front page of the New York Times that mentions Tara. Unfortunately, this was not good news. While we were aware of an article about to be published, we were completely blindsided by the narrative the article chose to take on Tara. The past few days have been incredibly hard. As someone who loves and cares so deeply for her, it absolutely broke my heart. Seeing her hurt like that hasn’t allowed me to sleep one consecutive hour or to eat properly the past few days.
Those who read the original version that was published will now notice several corrections to the article that were factually incorrect and seemed to be used in a way to negatively portray Tara’s character. Most of those corrections are now noted at the bottom of the article. Not noted in the corrections are clarified quotes which were initially used out of context to seemingly display inconsistency in Tara’s statements.
While we appreciate the willingness of the New York Times to make certain factual corrections post-publication, we still do not feel that the article is a complete and accurate representation of Tara.
Immediately following the release of the article, USADA published this statement via Twitter: “Something not included in this story is USADA's sincere appreciation for the courage Tara, Dathan & others have shown in speaking truthfullyâ€.
The reality is that Tara has been put in an incredibly difficult and complex situation. I know that she eventually looks forward to telling her story first-hand rather than having it told indirectly. In the meantime, I know that Tara would really appreciate the love and encouragement from her friends, family and supporters.
If you are someone who supports Tara, please feel free to share this message.
Thanks,
Jordan
