I think they did a great thing telling "Plum's" story and utilizing Eugene and the UO's running background, purely as a setting and background, and not going crazy "mining" all the classic running experiences they could have in Eugene.
Like the best if indie pictures, it exists in it's own world, and they use Eugene in a charismatic light.
If you have adventured into the indie film world over the years, I think you'll enjoy it.
It is a different experience to see a movie with running people in it that you know of, or have met, or watched race up close. Very unique in that.
The camera likes Alexi, and of course she doesn't have to worry about the "camera adding ten lbs."
I was thinking it might be more improvised that it feels. Interesting to note that contrary to the 300 how to books on screenwriting that must be out there, the "heroine" or protagonist doesn't really have a goal. Well, other than to get through her forced "day off."
