Jeez, that's why he said technically Austrian.

GF is BACK, BABY!
No, Hitler was Austrian, born in Austria (actually Austria-Hungary) to Austrian parents who, like many Austrians, were ethnically German.

No. Hitler was born in Austria to German parents.

Jeezsh! Hitler was not Australian. Australia wasn't even a country until after the Korean War.
But is it the coaches job to prepare an athlete for the pro's - in any sport? The coaches job is to win for the school. If he doesn't win - he is gone. Same in HS - if teams don't win it's over. So get the most out of the athlete in those four years.
If the coach can save his job by saying that my athlete ran 4:00 in his sophomore year of college or became an All Pro in the NFL then the premise is correct.
If that doesn't mean a hill of beans to the AD of the school, then the coaches job is to get the best of the athlete in those four years.

I thought he was a New Zealander. Isn't that why he always did all that weird kangaroo shit?
I could make this a lot more blunt, but other than Ryan Vail, is there anyone who has run for Dave at OKstate and gone on to have an even halfway decent professional career? With all the talent they have gotten over the last 8 years, does nobody find that peculiar?[/quote]
What about Shadrack Kipchirchir?

Sounds convoluted, but you are absolutely correct.
You get an A+
Really hope GF can make it as a serious contender in the pro running world.
With all the commotion over the sub 4 kids nowadays, it's easy to forget some of what Fernandez accomplished.
4:00/8:34 is the greatest (male) distance double high school track history. 14:24 Clovis is probably the greatest US high school XC performance ever. He was also younger when he ran 3:55i than Hunter, Maton, Slagowski, and Verzbicas were when they broke 4.
He's definitely someone to root for, and I think giving up on his chances of making a US team/placing well internationally/etc. would be a mistake.

Tom Farrell made the WC final in Beijing in the 5k and ran 13:10 (also was a British Olympian last year).

I'll ask you to stop letting facts get in the way of someone that has an agenda and/or has already made up their minds, please.
Mexicans born in America to Mexican parents are American. Therefore, a Hitler born in Austria to German parents is Austrian.

German Fernandez is back training under coach Smith at Ok St from what I've seen. He opened his track season with a 3:41 1500 to win by over four seconds. Very encouraging result. Hope to see him turn things around. He should have left Jerry a long time ago.
Atta Boy German!!!!
This dude has some serious talent. Love to see him make a comeback and pop a few fast races. Cali-Homeboys are pulling for him!!!

Hitler was an anchor baby?
This is the letsruniest thread ever. A thread on German being back that devolved into a classic demonstration of Godwin's law.

You do NOT understand Godwin's law. This thread is not a demonstration of it. That, however, may make your post the "Letsruniest" post ever.
Every year we get one of these posts and every year the comeback never materialises.

Joe Gray, one of the first WA runners who went to OK state in the mid-2000s. I'd say he's had a successful, but alternative pro career.

STFU you damned Nazi!
But it never really worked in college. If he did that he'd move back home and train with his HS coach.
