Knight's 5000m PR now better than Cheserek's
What did the man of 1000 excuses say after the race?
Knight to King - checkmate.
He's called the King cause he has the crowns, those equal championships in the NCAA. So since he has fistfuls and knight has zero...let's just wait to Eugene before we try to snatch the guys nickname.
Simply comparing 5000m PBs
Knight > than the man of a 1000 excuses
He dropped him by seven seconds in the last lap, all of the margin. But remember that Cheserek is in a heavy block of training all the way until peaking for NCAA. Glad to see Knight really living up to his potential. Very impressive. He's not far off what Estrada ran in college now.

But he is ahead of what Rupp, Levins, Jenkins, Ches, Derrick... ran in College.
Only Lalang, Rono, Sambu, Estrada and Cragg ran faster as collegians. Knight has one more year to go...

Hall and Dobson both ran 13:15 in college.
Ches once again packs it in when he thinks he is going to lose. Dropping 7 seconds on the last lap? That's pathetic

Dobson and Hall ran those times at USAs, held one week after the NCAA meet. The Track and Field News collegiate list does not include summer performances posted after the NCAA meet, not even for undergrads (although I believe Hall and Dobson were both seniors). And I'm sure the poster you quote is using the T&FN list.
As for Cheserek, one race is only one race, but it's more concerning that he hasn't improved his 13:18 5000m PB since 2014. He isn't fast enough at 1500m to be elite as a pro, and he hasn't shown he can run a pro elite level 5000m or 1000m either. Steeple might have have been a good event for him, but a bit late to try to learn.
I'd compare Cheserek to Lebron, focusing on the late season, very consistent, four year domination. Knight would be Steph Curry, regularly competing and winning with consistent improvement. Considering Cheserek is in a block of hard training i'm going to say it's going to come down to the NCAA's.

How do you make any sense?
Can you even run his last lap time?
Why do you even care?

Why would Cheserek need to make excuses when his fanboys do it for him. Apparently, Knight is not training to peak at the NCAA. Didn't Cheserek skip Penn to be prepared for this 5k specifically?

He skipped Penn because he was getting over an injury. He is still getting over the injury.
Disclaimer: not a Ches fan, could care less. But you gotta get your facts strait, man!

Ches never ran a 5000m as fast as Knight in his life.
What he ran last night (13:24.72) is very good for him. He has not run that fast since 2014, the year he ran 13:18.71 (and his 1500m and 10000m PRs).
His outdoor bests in the last 3 years have been
2014: 13:18.71
2015: 13:45.25
2016: 13:25.59
...and had Tiernan had another year of outdoor eligibility, Ches would not have been able to beat him either (over 10000m).
Tiernan's PB is more than 1 minute faster than Ches.

Keep telling yourself that.

Ok, what would be a good time for Ches than? That's the second fastest 5000m of his life.
