I disagree.
It's against the spirit of racing, but not running.
Running is what you make it.
They were all running out there with much spirit.
And they were truly trying to test the human limits. Very much the spirit of running.
It doesn't count for record purposes because it is against the spirit of what a record is. Fair enough, right?
It was an exhibition training run. You can do what you want there.
No one is giving Kiprop a million dollars to paced by lapped runners to run an unofficial 3:25 1500m.
And look at the 5000 the last several years.
No one has broken 12:50 since 2012 or 12:40 since 2005.
That event could use a boost. It doesn't need lapped pacers. It just needs the current runners to follow the rabbit already provided fir half the race.
And Farah never challenges the clock.
This event was a refreshing change from what we've seen on the track circuit lately.
