Haha, this is what I was complaining about to my kids.

I take back what I said about Carl Lewis. He's a good interviewer and MC. Knowledgeable and empathetic.

I agree. People here are acting like Rojo is Hitler. Don't act like as if all the realists are not also gloating in happiness that it failed because of Nike's drug history. This was nothing special.
Nope, rojo is too dumb to be Hitler.
Why does the front page of "HE GAVE IT A GREAT EFFORT" seem so...mocking?

Under legal conditions it's a 2:02 or 2:03. Calm down idiots.
Really?? Are you trying to deflect the shitestorm aimed at Rojo and directing it toward yourself? "Glad" you slept through this? Wow, just wow
Are you denying it converts to 2:02-3, or just offended about it?
What's the use of being right if we can't gloat about it? Rojo did nothing wrong. It's just all these princesses crying because they can't stand losing.

Shows that you are an idiot and Rojo is right. Rojo sees right through the Nike deception. You complainers are just sore losers who worship drug users.
Ok, lemme clarify, big pimpin. Was cool with the end result of Lance. I wasn't butthurt at all when he was busted as everyone knew what was going down; it was inevitable. I was cool how it turned out.
AND. I work on campus at NIKE, I'm proximate to the situation. And when you go back to what I said in the first posts, I'm not a NIKE apologist - I just don't trust a word that comes out of the Swooosh, because.
But I also don't like when anyone takes what was clearly an amazing performance by any standards, and the tweet reads "I was right". Again, that tells you everything you need to know about Letsrun and Wejo. You can continue to consume 'journalism' from here as you wish.
The blast was not about me, I'm a nobody. And not about Lance, thanks for the deflection. It's about the shitty ROJO tweets and attitude. And the best part is Kepchoge just said in the interview, he's not 25 seconds away, the world is 25 seconds away. How selfless. How not Rojo. That's the point.
Some people live for themselves. Some people live to do things. Some people live for other people. Pretty clear who falls where.

Maybe this has been discussed in this thread, but really, what was the huge difference between this and Bannister's sub4? bannister waited for the weather, and got real pacing/drafting for 1300m. How many of us dis that May 6th 1954 effort?
The huge difference is Bannister's mile attempt wasn't designed to sell shoes. It wasn't a PR event. There was no money for anyone. It was just one man going after what was thought to be an unbreakable record in a low key track meet.
You are still an idiot who doesn't see why I compared you to a Lance worshipper. Lance Armstrong did way more difficult things and gave way more out of this world performances than Kipchoge ever will. See my point?
Since rules don't mater I am surprised Nike didn't give him a transfusion half way to get his blood cell count back up. That's what Lase Virin did mid Olympics and look at his results. By the way check urine for epo etc. Either clean up the sport and don't acknowledge crap like spring shoes, possible doping, drafting, pacing, unapproved courses as any kind of anything related to the sport whatsoever....
Robert never said it wasn't fun to see. His tweet just said letsrundotcom was right and it was arrogant. Super insecure like Trump and it came at the right time.
The run itself was inspiring. Kipchoge is just so much fun to watch.
I don't think people are trashing the run at all. I think most of us who watched it are really impressed by it. Kipchoge brought his game.
I personally didn't want the first sub 2 to be in a closed competition reserved for one shoe company where the rules were changed. But we could have new events like this, "fastest marathon ever run."
And the fact Kipchoge came close and didn't break the record helps this event. If he ran say 1:57 flat, a lot of hard core runners would be -"it's the new shoes" and not "it's Eliud Kipchoge"[/quote]

Letsrun 2017: "Sure, we said he would blow up bigly and that it was stupid to try, but how great it was! What a move forward by the team we said were taking a step backwards!."

No. Don't agree at all.
Beyond that, like everything, it's possible Kipchoge dopes. History suggests this is by far the most probable option.
It's also possible he doesn't. We don't have enough of a way to know what's possible. Kipchoge could also be a true freak that is legit 1-1.5% better than anyone else
What was Tadesse's time? 2:06 high? 2:07? Big improvement for him...went out in 60 and hung on. Probably could have gone 2:04 high to 2:05 if done evenly.

Neither, I was speaking to the fact that you were glad you slept through this extravaganza. And if I was offended by anything, it would be that you just rolled out of bed and the first thing out of your mouth is that we are idiots. Wrong side of the bed?

Forget all that garbage about specialized nutrition, shoes, kinesio tape and special clothing that Nike was trying to sell you sheep. The only factor that mattered was being able to run the whole race with virtually no wind resistance in near perfect weather conditions and paying the best marathoner in the world to do it.
So it is a double-hoax??
Nike trying to sell some useless shit and at the same time directing the attention away from the fact that the slipstream saved him 90 secs?
Anyways, he will break the record in Berlin.

Weldon agrees. He deleted the tweet.
KIPCHOGE WAS UNREAL. He made it way farther than I thought. So let's call it a draw. I was right that no one would break it. Nike can have some kudos for putting it on.
I still wish we knew more about the shoes.
Nah it's consensus you took the L today. Enjoy your crow.
I refuse to get excited about any project NIKE are involved in.
They paid the UCI to keep Lance at the top of his sport.
They could be protecting Kipchoge right now with all this money they are handing over to corrupt Kenyan officials.
how i loved to be lied to and deceived .
lies and deception are ungodly ,unchristian and
therefore the work of satan , ie nike .
