David Katz measured the course, he's a very respected course measurer (measured the 2012 and 2016 Olympic courses). He even added the "course correction factor" so the course is actually slightly longer than a marathon.
They are flashing "distance run" under the clock at every so often, so we'll at least get the lap splits. I hope we also get 5K splits. I also wonder what the laser will do if they fall off pace.
It would be cool if it changed colors to yellow and red depending on how far off they were.
