No worries he'll test positive again.

Maybe for figure skating.
But I suspect in the real sports like the baseball, hoops, hockey, football, boxing, track, the % of top athletes who are gay is well below the % of males who are gay in the total population.

So? Unless you were there you can't be too offended if it's no longer directed at you.
Not sure about your use of outcry. I'm just mildly noting a fact. Those Americans who are proud are more often than not, morans.
Oh, I've been spat on as I enter a building for a local community Town Hall. I've been berated and called all the usual derisive terms these people have for gay men. I've had to hide who I am, from my friends, my family and colleagues. So of course it's directed "at me". How do you think it's not?
Why doesn't that bother you?
People are rightfully proud of their heritage. People are rightfully proud of who they are. There's nothing to belittle in that. Unless, of course, you simply don't respect who they are.
Which seems likely to be actually be the case here.

How about women' hoops?
No. Stop being so dramatic.

Classic.
"Stop being so dramatic" = "go back into your closet"

No. You are not immune from being told to stop being dramatic no matter what your preference is. Stop feeling entitled.
My neighbor Robert says that all Canadians are gay.

This world class athlete hid who he is for the first 20-odd years of his life. Why do you think he did that?
Any "drama" lies on the side of those who deride and marginalized people so routinely that they come to see opposition to that as "feeling entitled".

More tea please. Why is it so shocking? Many guys have sex with women before coming out as gay, it's not unheard of.
I'm proud of my fellow posters tolerance for not making jokes about him enjoying riding a pole.

Beats me. I haven't revealed my sexuality yet either.

Maybe he put up a front while with his buddies, maybe he was in denial or ashamed for a long time? Sometimes LGBT people go to great lengths to hide the fact that they're queer. That is also why it can be quite a shock to close friends and family. Sometimes friends and family just know, or at least suspect, other times they don't. If he bragged about having sex with women, if he commented on finding girls attractive, that could have just been a front, he did what was expected of him in the macho sports environment. It could also be that at the time he himself didn't know he was gay yet, so maybe he did fancy ladies only until later realizing that he was gay. Some gay men hook up with women before coming out, not all gay are "gold star gay". I've actually heard of some guys having sex with many women before coming out as gay, again it happens and I can only imagine it's more prevalent in the sports community as the pressure is bigger there to appear straight.
Summarized, yeah, it's belivable he had sex with that woman, he can still be gay. Those two things (having sex with a woman) and being gay are not mutually exclusive, though most people would like to think so. It's common to have sex with women before coming out. Or maybe he had a threesome with her and the other guy. Or yeah.. maybe he really is bisexual. I'm sure he knows the difference between bisexual and gay though. I believe him when he says he is gay. He would have come out as bisexual if that's what he is, just my opinion.

It's a fake.
It is an advantage in terms of media coverage and endorsements to claim to be gay these days

he has lost alot of his form from previously
maybe his supply of dope was cut off.
and this little lie was only way that could get it back
lets see if starts jumping higher again.

His agent confirmed he wrote it though.

Seriously?! Accusing someone of doping is a serious matter. Maybe you should think twice before doing that. Yeah, I know all about the cocaine issue but cocaine isn't really used for performance enhancement, it's for recreational use.
Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe he was struggling with something else that affected him mentally, like for example his sexuality? Maybe he was confused, he couldn't focus properly and that's why he performed badly too. Maybe coming out will give him some peace of mind. It will certainly be interesting to see if he performs better at upcoming events like Diamond League.

Trying to get to start competing against women as his career declines is my guess. Look for that argument from his camp to come.
