Crazy time. Looks like there were less than 44.67 people in the stands
Holy cow... UTEP goes 1-4? That's gonna be a fast 4x4
Maybe this is his best event. 44.67 vs. 1:14.97(?) and 1:46 so far.

Definitely. At this rate he ought to be selected to run the 400 for Kenya at world champs
His coach said he was a sprinter moving up to the 800m, so not that surprising. Great performance. More along the lines of a Nigel Amos than David Rudisha.
Yeah, clearly a real 400 athlete. Should be selected by AK...but then, it's AK...

Extremely illogical statement.
I can't even remember the last time a Kenyan broke 45. Kenyan records stands at 44.18 from 1992. This is ridiculous though, it's hard to tell what event he should actually be running at this point. I doubt he could beat Fred Kerley but he should definitely be running at Worlds for Kenya in this event.
El Paso is at 3700'. That helps.

Last year
That's actually pretty nuts!!!
Korir trains like a distance runner. He runs cross country. That makes his 400m time even more impressive! The vast majority of NCAA sub-45 400m athletes do not run cross country. We'll see how fast his 800m will be this spring. If he gets his 400m down to sub-44.25 by the end of summer, he may consider becoming a 400m specialist.
Altitude converter still puts him right around 45 flat, just under in this case. Aided yes, less impressive, by no means.

Unfortunately.

As usual, you manage to be the dumbest person in the thread, and it's never close.
The poster was emphasizing that the apparent fall-off in ability from Korir's 400 time to his 800 time was owed to his inexperience and incomplete development in the latter event. If someone was equally maxed out at 44.67 and 1:46+, sure, it would appear that that athlete was better at the 400. But in this case he may be only a solid season of better training away from a 1:43-high.
Then again, he should easily make the Kenyan 400m team. 800m is where the dogfight is. Even Rudisha almost didn't make Rio.

Agreed.
Rudisha was also a sprinter moving up.
