Is Jorge, Horhay or George?
Is Jorge, Horhay or George?
Horhay
Hor--He--Toe (Jorgito)
I was at a lecture that Wetmore gave for the Boulder Running Club and Ed and Jorge were also there. Ed called his brother George as did Wetmore.
I would go with George although I was a little surprised, but these two are about American as they come (as they should be being raised in Illinois).
I've always heard that it is George. However, starting even when they were in high school and lot of people and announcers would refer to him as Horhay.
At the pre-nationals xc meet I overheard a woman talking who appeared to be a friend of the family (although I don't know for certain). She was talking to somebody about how Jorge wants to be "George" although most insist on calling him Horhay.
I usually stick to referring to him as "that awesome fast dude who won NCAA xc".
Its George and it has been George for many years.
Unless you are gay, then it is Horr-hay.
It's pronounced Horr-hay in spanish. In english I guess it's okay to say George.
...who cares? Unless you're friends with him, why will it matter? You can call him numbnuts and it won't mean a damn thing to anyone but your stupid internet-posting ass.
Nobody asks if crazy Jason is Mayer-hoff or Mayeroff and there's way more chance of you hanging out with this cat.
Stupid shit to be curious about.
He prefers "Hor-hey," though his brother and many of his teammates thinks it's crap because he should have made that decision when he joined the team.
In the coach's press conference at NCAAs, Wetmore refers to him at Hor-hay.
It's on track shark.
at least i think.
Larry also works.................
Ok, so there is no definitive consensus.
He prefers Hor-hay now. It wasn't always that way, but it is now.
actually its preferred to pronounce his name hor-hay tor-ay
the s on torres is silent.
Actually, he prefers to be called:
Hey-sexy-skinny-fast-guy Tore-up-my-fragile-girlfriend...
but only at the clubs
Otherwise, he likes Homer.
Doesn't anyone watch ESPN Sports Center? It's
George "my name is Horhay" Torres.
Actually George sounds much more "Manly" than Hoor-hay!
