Cael Sanderson was undefeated his entire college wrestling career. Won 4 NCs in a row. Look it up. In his first international meet after college, he lost to a Cuban Olympian. After the match, the Cuban said he had no idea who Cael Sanderson and had never heard of him.

Quotes like this are silly. Rupp is an Olympic medalist on the track and in the marathon. If professional runner doesn't know who he is and respect him as a legit competitor, he or she is ignorant. And I'm far from a Rupp or Saladbar fanboy.

well, it cud be that he doesnt know who "crazy" rupp (in swedish "galen" means crazy!) is but cud also be a result of not understandin the question.

maybe he thought he was asked if he knows galen rupp or is friends with him, not if he knows who he is!

off topic: galen rupp is completely unknown in sweden. mabe 1 out of 1000 knows who he is.

i asked a friend of mine if he knew who mo farah was. he just laughed at me. and shock his head.

I'm sure that if they don't know who Murphy is, they will. and I'm sure plenty of Kenyans have heard about Centrowitz, they were allegedly all ticked off that Kiprop disappointed them (funny when you think about it, it's like a reverse situation of 1968 Olympic 1500m... Ryun "let down" his country and Keino proved a magnificent star to the Kenyans... tables turned now as Centro takes the glory and Kiprop takes the fall, but at least Ryun got silver)

I'm sure they know Jager though. Almost taking Olympic gold and defeating Kemboi in the process, and running what was reportedly 7:56 pace before his fall in Paris
