It's interesting that Kerr is running in the NCAA (and he's not American), while Hunter is not.
Time will tell who made the right decision.
Kerr is a true 1500 runner. Hunter is a 5k runner who's decent at the 1500.
If they can ever get drugs out of the sport Kerr has the tools to be a top level, championship calibre runner. But as long as the E. Africans are allowed to dope with impunity he'll find himself locked in the second tier with other great runners who are clean.
Cheserek. Kenyan indoor record holder in the mile. Pretty amazing regardless.
And drew is a freshman in college Kerr is a sophomore to my age point
that's what i would do, especially after losing at ncaa's

My guess is that Ches is satisfied with his 3:52.xx NCAA mile record. Nothing left to prove at that distance. Focus is on 5K and 10K NCAA records for the next 2 months.

Everyone is still saying Hunter is a better 5k runner, but I'm still waiting on evidence
What has Hunter done to show that he's a much better 5k runner than miler? I mean, his mile is what? 3:56? What has he done that even remotely equates to that in a 5k? Even that's better than his 7:53 3k PR.

...and wasn't Kerr the European junior champion?

Dollar signs show who made the right decision.

Funny how the Flotrack commentators didn't even make reference to the fact that Ches wasn't in the race, they acted as if he was never supposed to run.
Exactly. Pretty weak.
336, still good but lets be honest.
I guess that there will be no 1500m at NCAA for Ches.
Ches was a spectator last night. I heard that he pooped his pants after watching Kerr.
The man of a thousand excuses will have trouble explaining his loss away a second time. Therefore it will be the 5000/10000 for him.
Pretty sure that we will not even see Ches runnng the 1500m this summer.

There's always one.
Not how it works in this game kiddo.
Take all the jabs at Ches you want, you act like he's a cocky runner who is some imposter and not actually fast. Sure he makes some excuses, sure he has a big ego and is a bit cocky, but you neglect to acknowledge he has had a remarkable career.
Rave about Kerrs 3:35.9, because I was very impressed. Dont forget however that Ches came through about 336 enroute to his 352.-- mile @ BU. Had he been racing 1500 he could have gone faster and we are talking on an indoor track, in a pure fast race ches would burn Kerr outdoors. I think Kerr is a great runner and will only get better but he isnt on Ches' level yet. Also u call this man "the man of a thousand excuses" but that same man is the fastest man in the WORLD this YEAR over 1Mile,
The king will race in good time and I would expect him to haul in 2-3 more NCAA titles this spring solidifying his spot as hands down the greatest ncaa track athlete EVER. I would love to see Ches lower his PR of 13:18 and get close to the 13min barrier and I also think with his talent and race ability he should be able to cut 45-1min off his 10k PB this summer after going pro.

Ok, then. I guess that he will not take the easy route and will indeed try the 1500/5000 double...
I highly doubt that.
We shall find out soon enough.

.
So Kerr crushes Ches, yet Kerr is nowhere near Ches level. Great logic!

Spoiler alert, he does not care about and will never attempt the 5k or 10k NCAA record

Kerr has just run faster than Cheserek has ever run, winning easily.
Kerr beat Cheserek by a distance at NCAA indoors.
There is nothing to back up your claim that "in a pure fast race ches would burn Kerr outdoors" - who's to say Kerr hasn't got another 1.5 seconds in him right now?
None of the world's top milers have run this year, and the mile isn't a relevant time for world rankings anyway.
Get a grip.
No reason to criticize Cheserek. All he's done is NOT go pro while amassing something like fifteen NCAA championships, a record. But Kerr here showed what kind of talent it took to beat an in-form but also race-tired Cheserek (he'd already won the 5 the previous night and run a heat of the mile earlier that day). He broke 3:36, won by a lot over Engels and Hill, and will surely go a lot faster in Europe this summer. He has talent, no question about it. As for Hunter, he's pointing to later in the season, ran 3:56 indoors, and I am sure will be running very fast by Trials.

Hunter is fading fast. Never was or will be much of a 1500 or 5K runner.
Cheserek's mile converts faster than Kerr's time
