Has to be the most overrated musician of all time.

Agreed..his songs are trite garbage. Can't hold a candle to Huey Lewis. Plus he seems like a d-bag in real life. Didn't he marry some chick who was like 19 or something?
In terms of a piano man, he's as good as they come. But not everyone's into that.
Never liked him. He's an atheist. Christie Brinkley was okay in Vacation movie.

I don''t know what faith you profess, but I know at least one that commands to love everybody, and that includes to love atheists.

Always thought that was Dave Mathews.

You don't have to like people. Like is not the same as the love (verb) that the Bible is talking about.
He's the first to admit that his songs are not sophisticated.
I look his early work but not much after 1982.

Agreed. I view him, at least his early material, as one of the rock guys in the decade after Dylan whose songs embody his background. Like Springsteen embodies Jersey, and Mellencamp, Tom Petty, Bob Seger with their respective backgrounds. But BJ's style is different, and with stuff like New York Serenade he seemed to have a veneer of (unwarranted) sophistication but still had juvenile crap in that era like "Big Shot" and "Still Rock and Roll to Me."
Anyone still listening to Billy Joel is a loser!
He has written some fantastic melodies. Harder to do than it seems.
We didn't start the fire is pretty good.
Theme song to Bosom Buddies

He appeals to us baby boomers. If you're under 60, fuhgeddaboudit.
He's an Elton John knock off.
He and his music haven't aged well, but his ex-Christie, va,va,voom, at 63!

I don't disagree but the song you refer to is "New York State of Mind" which is fantastic. Springsteen wrote and sang New York City Serenade which is a great example of his early and much better work than what made him popular to the masses. Billy Joel was similar although he had the occasional later gem.
Both Billy Joel and Springsteen suck. Really bad.

Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber are the greatest ev-uh!

One of the most successful pop song writers and performing artists of all time. You don't like his music. I don't like his music. But his immense popularity trumps your personal opinion, junior.
How could anyone hate this story telling?
