I don't buy it.
hilarious video
when she was crying cause she couldn't do an 18 miler I was laughing my ass off
also, LA marathon is net downhill, and she was really putting in the work, and she must be pretty talented, cause 0-45mpw is a really good progression
Not bad at all for her, was actually quite impressed
Now I've never run a marathon - but should you be able to talk during it?? Especially during the "wall" portion, she was basically yelling.
How come she doesn't show up in the LA Marathon results? Her bib is 83598.
Nevermind, you have to take the 8 off. She has time splits so she did run. She does other sports so it's not like she hadn't run before.
Ye- talking at MP not unusual - this ain't a 5k and if you're anywhere near LT you're done - basically your legs and glycogen go before you hit anywhere near max HR - it's an odd, dull pain not a sharp 5k high beat all out
(I'm a low 2:40's runner for what it's worth)
1:37/3:30 out of the gate is actually good talent.
Yeah, I buy it. She's clearly got some natural talent as a runner and it sounds like she was already doing athletic stuff like biking etc., so it's not like she was starting from the couch.
Goofy video. She cries a lot. Maybe I should try that in my next marathon build-up.
I'm somewhat embarrassed she has my first effort covered by 30 minutes and at that point I was on year 3 of hobby jogging lol
I think I could gobble-gobble her in the chute of a 5k at that point in my training tho (mid 20:nn) hehe
Just reminds me how much I suck lol

She is/was a professional cyclist.
She is not going from "couch to marathon", she is going from "well trained aerobic pro athlete to marathon"... It's still a very very impressive feat (no pun intended) to run a 3:30 off of 10 weeks of training even if she was in very good aerobic shape.
That's clearly not the same person. Her skin/hare look different.
Oh a pro cyclist ? Lmao
Those are the types that show up to a 5k and go 18's with zero mpw , or I guess 20 on the women's side
So they take a cycle to build up to a long run. #shockedface

Hi Eric!
I stopped watching after the guy said "anyone can walk a 5k." F*ck off non-runner dude. The work required to hobby jog a marathon is not greater than the work required to run a fast 5k. Will these douchebags ever learn? SMFH.
Seriously mate? wrote:

Lol.
But anyone can walk a 5k...
Given all the other crap Buzzfeed puts out there, that was mildly interesting
Her name is Michelle Khare. She has posted her runs on Strava up until a week before her marathon. She obviously is a fit girl but she didn't upload her marathon data to strava.

The last marathon I ran was a PR by three minutes. I ran the last 13 next to some random dude and we chatted the whole time. It was kind of nice vs just running in pain by myself.

Also, according to athlinks, she ran a 1:37 half two months before the LA marathon (after two weeks of training?). McMillan says this is equivalent to a 3:26 marathon, so her fitness did not really improve during the ten week program.

Yeah, I was also impressed by the 0-45 mph jump. Going from 0-70 in like 7 weeks is also pretty crazy. I'm surprised she didn't get injured, honestly. I don't think my body could withstand that sort of pressure, especially if I was not coming from a running background.
