By your philosophy, his answer is irrelevant as long as it is the best he can do on that given day. So why ask the question?

I see.
So, today's training run/walk
5.73 miles running in 50:28 (net 44:27) (includes 6 min. of traffic lights)
Plus..
.56 walk
1.45 miles running
.69 walk
.56 run
plus 2.52 miles of fast walking
Total: 11.51 miles (7.74 run, 3.77 walk)
I think I am doing plenty fine. No? If not, what did you do today?
This is for all of those who work hard despite the naysayers.
For someone admonishing people for focusing on numbers, you sure do have a focus on numbers. What is your definition of fast walking? 4mph?5mph?6mph?
This is simple.Running numbers are okay.Pounds are not. They do not weigh you pre-race or pre-training

Right. This is true until he evaluated.Naturally, it is important to see if he is qualified

While it's not as much as others on these boards do, I typically am running ~60mpw averaging ~7'00" for the week (easy & long runs). Then you add in workouts. And zero walking (because who logs any walking they do? If it's not running, don't put it down)
This one is simple to address for me.I have timed myself in a track walking mile in 9:50.In 2007, I walked a half marathon in a pace of 11:57 per mile.In 2008, I walked a marathon in 5:40, with the first half being in 2:29, or an 11:23 pace.I still practice walking and just last week, I did a 14.5 mile walk which included several hills in a pace of 14 and change, or a sub-14 pace sans traffic light stops. One hill was up about 600 feet in about 1.4 miles. We are never talking a beach stroll here, dude. If you as a 7 minuter count your slower paces, I can certainly count my walking. You are going to fight this but so am I.Let's bring more than pretense. My result link is on page one. Are you really that much better that you feel entitled to judge every aspect?Really?

You are all over the place.
That is a good mantra for you. Others may disagree. Some people weight themselves. So quit with the fat acceptance bul... stuff.
Yes.The key word is -themselves-It is not up to anyone else but the runner regarding themselves what they look like.In other words, quoting myself...nunya.All over the place? Nah, you are simply seeing someone who does not regard you as a guru responding in kind.Real people speak their minds.Voila!

When it comes to running weight is more than an aesthetic. Only an idiot or a troll would argue otherwise. Which are you?

I am a runner who disagrees with you.Next?

And you have the right to disagree. You don't have the right to silence what you don't agree with. So Stoppit Smith, stop trying to tell people what they can or can't post.

That is a big no.This is running forum. This is not a place to attack the overweight. This is not a place to attack the over skinny. This is not a place to critique shallow aspects that have nothing to do with shoes and the pavement.I am not trying to tell you, but rather, I am telling you.If you are not stopping, I am not stopping.I owe it to all of the people many of you have been mean to.And that is that.

If you're coming to these boards for 100% factual discussions on the sport of running, you're in the wrong place. People like you is what makes these boards enjoyable.
You need to lose some weight.
Update: Liver and Steamed brown rice for lunch. FUK it . I am all in.
Such Wisdom!
Wow!
Oh..wait...it's just blind flippancy.
For whom, precisely, would I be losing this weight?
Are you Stuart Smalley?
No he isn't. But I have been captain obvious in this thread. I would post under my real handle, but these crazy threads worry me.
Crazy Thread?I am sorry, but do conscience and running run opposite of each other? Can runners NOT be nice and accepting?

Do you know who should lose some weight? Kara goucher. maybe she wouldn't be injured all the time if she wasn't overweight.
