Wasn't it Rob Young's feet that tragically ended his heroic run for charity? So sad and tragic that another gifted running phenom is brought down by foot issues. These guys need to get foot specialists to work with them on their epic runs in the future so these tragic mishaps can be avoided. I've already used the word tragic three times, and yet I still don't think it has conveyed how tragic this all is. So tragic. Very tragic. Tragic.
Alternatively, I think this tragedy could have been avoided if people who pretend to run long distances weren't forced to undergo this unnecessary scrutiny which forces them to actually run. If they didn't need to actually run then they could easily cover miraculous distances with no foot issues at all. So, when you think of it, the real tragedy is making these people run at all. Just let them say they ran. It's for the kids. Or whomever. And awareness. You can't put a price tag on awareness.
