He could join a B tier group, move somewhere remote, change his training, and risk long term growth (not many good B team groups) all for some housing stipend. But why risk that if you believe you can become an A level guy under your current training.
Top part of this is post is wrong, but bottom part is correct.
2:22/1:06/29:30/14:30 types do get more support than you'd think. Free shoes, gear, entries, sometimes hotels (depending on race) it's all in what you bargain for.
Stick to what works, continue to grow, don't be afraid to ask for stuff, be grateful for what you do get and keep training.
