What school went out and got wrecked for St. Patty's Day the night before the Rose Hulman Meet? I guess the Coach found out, packed up the team and took them home before the meet.

Good move. Guys pulling that kind of crap don't deserve a coach supplied by a college. That kind of stuff isn't accidental. Cut them all.
Good move by coach. So called athletes who sacrifice performance for selfish reasons don't deserve the privilege of partying. EARN the party AFTER the meet.
It costs $1000 to put an athlete on a plane. Less to drive but still costs hotel money. Why reward people with free trips to places if they arent fufilling their end of the student athlete contract.
I am sure the United Negro College Fund could use the money instead.

Triton Community College, representing Chicago south side. If I seen ya's I woulda bought a round.
It actually was Triton. They have the meet listed on their schedule and are not in the results. Those JUCO kids know how to party. Gotta say if I was stuck in Terre Haute I'd be drinking too.
It's not St Patty's you ignorant twats !
It iss St Patricks Day...or St PaDDys Day if you want to sound cool by disrepecting the Saint.
St Patty wtf ?!?!
Anyone ever run hungover or drunk and done well? Is like to hear about your experience and if you ran fueled by hate.

In all seriousness I was going to say "don't lump d3 together" but my team has about a dozen hacks who would pull this. Is it different if they weren't going to run a respectable time anyway?
Nice move, Coach! Don't put up with that nonsense!

People always complain about this and end up sounding stupid. Where do you think 'Paddy' comes from? It isn't the Anglicized name Patrick...
"The only name that Patrick uses for himself in his own writings is PÄtricius, which gives Old Irish Pátraic and Modern Irish Pádraig ([ˈpË aËdÌªË É¾Ë É™ÉŸ]), English Patrick and Welsh Padrig"
So if Patty's is wrong and Paddy's is right--based on the particular modern Irish spelling you've decided is appropriate--then we shouldn't be able to call it St. Patrick's Day, either.
If St. Patrick's day is an appropriate spelling and pronunciation, then St. Patty's day should be, too.
Pádraig = Paddy
Patrick = Patty
Same name.
People who get all self-righteous and huffy about so-called "authenticity" without knowing anything about history or etymology should just keep their mouths shut.

Nobody wants to recognize that Triton is a juco?
I'm absolutely SHOCKED that a school in a filthy area of the murder capital of hte US would have no standards. BREATHTAKING

You sound like the type of guy who never had any youthful indiscretions. Certainly they should be punished, but "Cut them all", that's crazy. Btw, I ran for one of the top D1 programs in the nation and there was at least one meet a year were we broke the rules in some way. As a coach, you can't allow crap like this to go unchecked, but at the same time, you have to recognize kids make mistakes.

That is awesome you might of broke into the top 10 this weekend at NYC Half...........IN THE WOMENS RACE
Sorry but if your a track coach and think partying the night before a race can be chalked up as a "mistake" is ridiculous. I would figure out who the leader/leaders were and cut them. The athletes should be honored and appreciative they get to travel and represent their school no matter the level. This is what the problem is with our generation of leaders, bunch of wimps who are producing a wimpy culture. "Made a mistake", "Made a bad decision" or "I'mean sorry" does not cut it. NO FREE PASS. Hope coach takes care of business.
Your logic is actually valid, however, in Ireland (where I think they know more than you) they would never spell it with Ts because that is feminine. They ONLY spell it with Ds as that is masculine. You sound just as "self-righteous and huffy". On a related note, they would also never dye their beer green because 'authentic' Irish beer is dark enough that it wouldn't work.
Cheers.
