Loled. Living proof that doping may be rampant in Kenya.

They might take advantage of the environment (altitute, training atmosphere...etc) there, but that was far from being a part of the system.

They are thankless fellows. They need to go to Ethiopia but the problem is, they will talk the same garbage regarding their host like they did to us.
I am not proud of him, I am not happy for him.
@NativeSon. They have zero credibility. That they barely lasted a few months, before moving back to Iten, tells you all you need to know about this pair: First, that their story was bulls*** and nothing more than their usual effort to get their name in the press, never mind the damage. Can you imagine any clean athletes going to Russia to train with Russians given recent revelations? Second, that they have no shame! Returning and showing your face around a place and people you were so maliciously and viciously disparaging just four-five months earlier, for your own promotional gain, takes a special kind of gall.
Vile creatures, these two.
If you can't look honestly at doping in your own country, where there are dozens of doping positives in the past five years despite the lack of testing in country, then how can we take what you say seriously? There's been plenty of it among American sprinters and we all know about the questionable activities of Salazar and his athletes. Non-Salazar American distance runners haven't been testing positive much at all, so we don't have the same suspicions there. We also know about the Aden and his group. But here you see Kenyans complaining about criticism of doping and corruption, both well established, in Kenya, and Brits defending Farah against criticisms of his ties to both Salazar and Aden. But the Americans have legitimate suspicion of Salazar's American athletes. Be honest about the doping and corruption issues in your own countries.
They weren't trashing Kenya as a country or it's people, they were talking about some specific bad things in Kenya they were witness too. You have to remember, the Robertsons are not Kenyan, like Americans, they come from a culture were it's normal to speak out about things. I know this does not sit well with Kenyans who come from a culture of not speaking out about things, especially to people outside of Kenya. I am always fascinated by how good Kenyans are about keeping things to themselves, Americans and New Zealanders don't have that skill.
Unofficial time, but this could be first twins to run under an hour in career, his twin Zane ran 59:47 in Japan last year.
Editor's update: Here is an amazing video of the finish.
If they knew about it before ever venturing to Kenya that is one thing (I doubt they did), but if they learned over the course of time they spent in Kenya, they didn't "use" Kenya. They only discovered that it might not be the place its hyped up and mythologized to be by so many.
These twins are not representative of the people from New Zealand.
Yes - they were born here, and their mother lives in Hamtilon - but that's where it stops... I think deep down - they are nice guys, but if they spent less time trying to be gangsters and "heavy in dagame", and less time uploading old images whilst they are injured, and more time keeping their mouth shut, and let their actions speak louder - then people would be ok with them.
500 points for Jake running 60.01, but he gets 1000 bonus points for not coming out on social media and telling the world.
As for Zane - great to be proud of the brother, but drop the swearing, your mother is not proud of this, and neither are New Zealanders - we are humble people, probably just like the kenyans - show respect to where you come from and where you are now. Then people will show you respect - and you might even sign a shoe deal that pays more than the minimum wage you would earn pushing trolleys at Pak n Save Hamilton.
On a positive note - keep up the awesome running lads... and remember - you want your legacy to be what medals you won and your fast times, not whether you were "heavy in dagame"
Can some of the haters provide quotes and support for quotes that make the twins "vile" people?
As a fellow NZ'er. Totally agree - not in keeping with our culture. Was at the track last week with my kids for children's athletics. Ran into an ex-All Black - he brought these guys up. The fact he was aware of them shows the effectiveness of their self promotion. The negative perception he had of them speaks volumes for the effect of the this. They need to let their achievements represent them not their banter.
I agree, they should be UP FONT about it.

At least you are being up font about it. You don't care about clean sport and want people to keep quiet when they see something.
The Robertsons are two normal guys. I do not think they are overly into the game or whatever some of you are referring to. Do they like hip hop, probably. Do they dress flossy, yeah. Do they have unique personality, sure. Are they so over the top that it takes away from their running. No. They are normal dudes. Just because other fast runners are so vanilla doesn't make these guys too picante.
Did Jake actually ever leave Kenya?
Did Jake actually accuse Kenyans of doping?
Seems like Zane has only been back in Kenya since he has been injured. But it was Zane that accused top Kenyans of doping.
Haven't anti-doping protocols been improved in Kenya since mid-2016?

Again, what would you make of any athlete moving to Russia in this current climate? And do injuries prevent one from continuing to live in Ethiopia, now ? Also, I notice no docs and videos from his rather brief sojourn in Ethiopia. If I was the cynical kind, I'd say he moved back because it was harder to parlay his move there into a paying gig.
Given the very bitter, malicious tone and intent of his rants and accusations last year, to be brutally honest (and this is a very un-Kenyan thing to say as I'm not the nicest) I wish he'd pick somewhere else to live. But Kenya is a free, welcoming country with no place for Trump-style discriminatory bans. And I guarantee you every other Kenyan that reads this would wince, say that I've gone too far and that I don't speak for all Kenyans (which is true as I don't).

Bump, Keniano

I assume there are still traces on his twitter timeline (not sure because I don't follow), but he deleted some of the more controversial tweets following a bitter back-and-forth with a bunch of Kenyans that dared to call him out on a bunch of things. Apparently went on a blocking spree after. He also did some print interviews with New Zealand media around the time of the Olympics which I don't care to google. A simple search of this site should bring up some of those threads (if not deleted).

"His" Twitter? You called them both vile. Such a claim I think would mean you have some quotes and support to back up your sentiments, but maybe you are just a bad person.

Oh, but they are. It's just that I'm not motivated enough to unearth quotes from 6 months ago for you when you are perfectly capable of doing it by yourself. And I'm pretty certain that I can't link the deleted tweets either.
Anyway, these guys aren't my favourite subject so there's no need for me to dwell on them. How about we focus on the happier subject of a different pilgrim to Iten who's actually well liked and appreciated and vice versa? Can you spot the difference in interaction with the locals and the mutual respect they have for one another? It's like night and day compared to those kiwis.
Answer directly, El Keniano, is this claim false?
"A lot of top guys are dirty. Names are hidden, positive tests are hidden for bribe money. It's a big problem," he said.
