world-beaters:
1. Wayde Van Niekerk, 2016 Olympic gold medalist in the 400m and wr holder.
2. Amantle Mansho, 2011 World gold medalist in the 400m and 2013 silver medalist, best of 49.33 in Monaco, busted for methylhexamine and received a 2 year ban in 2015
3. Caster Semenya, many medals from 2009 to 2016, being bumped up to gold apparently from dq's of the Russians, first noticed by a former East German coach, and the best runner for South Africa in the 400m/800m/1500m (maybe the best in the world at each of those events?).
4. Nijel Amos, silver in the 800m--no, he did not beat everyone, but he did run 1:41.73 in his first year in the senior ranks (his age said to be 18, maybe really 22 or older?)--he is a 400/800 runner as well.
But numerous others as indicated above are high quality depth never seen before in South and Southern Africa.
