Hi all I am very frustrated right now.
As a freshman and sophomore I ran 1:53.66 in an 800 outdoor, and a bunch of 1:54s indoor. I also split 48.6 on a 4x4, once, but have run 49s many times those years as well as senior year of high school. I have also run sub 50, 49.5 in the open.
That being said my range goes up to the 8K where I have run sub 25 twice, once of which was at Paul Short for reference.
All this being said, I do my workouts and feel smooth as hell training as a 4:10 miler. I kick the crap out of my teammates yet when it comes time to race I am only capable of about 4:25, or if its a good day 4:20... What gives?
My teammates have been able to run consistently 4:17-4:20 range despite being unable to complete the workouts, or having run anywhere near as fast in any other event....
Any suggestions?
