Breaks Chris Johnson's record.
Breaks Chris Johnson's record.
Not real timing
Then why isn't he a world class sprinter?
Bogus timing is why.
Was he wearing Adidas? Does he win an island?

However, as Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio noted on Twitter, Ross was wearing Nike spikes during Saturday's run. According to an official release, Ross donned Nike's new Vapor 4.2 cleats after inking a deal with the company in advance of the combine.
As I implied to in the other thread, this is meaningless, combine times are often luck of the draw because the timing is an unreliable system and isn't FAT.
ffs, the guy pulled something and wasn't even accelerating over the second half. if you believe this was a 4.22 and you watch and time de'anthony thomas and believe his "4.50", then I have oceanfront property in detroit for you
just a couple of cherry picked examples, but the combine is total bs and its SAD! that it means thousands or millions of dollars potentially. it's a crock
But he injured himself...i'd rather run 4.33 and not injure myself trying to be the fastest..
Hmm, what bout Bo Jackson's 4.12 at the 1986 combine...
Jackson was a track standout in the 100 meters so I believe his is more accurate.

Agree. Asinine timing system. When the runner picks up his hand the timer reacts! .24+ De'Anthony Thomas was probably a low 4.3.
I was watching. His run was the only run where the clock disappeared on screen. Something a little fishy was going on. It looked closer to a 4.3.

Probably a fake record to get ratings. Maybe Sebbie Coe can collude with IAAF to do same thing with Farah in 5k. Clock disappears then reappears reading 1236.
That's nothing. Katie Nolan did 5.90, just a few tenths of a second slower than Tom Brady

Football players train to accelerate and hit their top speed quicker than a sprinter. And we can't technically guarantee that the times aren't correct or even slower than what they put it as.

Also, Bolt and other sprinters still beat those times in the first 40 yards of their 100m sprints without reaction time. I'd guess the 40 times aren't far off from being correct

Uh- pretty cool. I did not know that track sprinters try to delay their top speed. How long do they try to hold back from reaching top speed in the 60m or 100m?

Football players train to hit top speed fairly quickly. Sprinters take longer to reach their top speed which is why they are better at the 100m. It took Bolt til 60m to reach his top speed in 2009, a football player is slowing down by then

Because he is an outstanding football player as well. He is going to make far more money than any world class sprinter.

Because it really isn't that fast. Forget the timing - its at least consistent to the combine.
Back in 1976, Ian Campbell - a TJer for Australia, and competitor for WSU used to regularly run 3.9. 4.0 was a bad day. Timed similarly to this.
He also won 2 indoor national TJ championships, and ran second in the pac 7 100 m to the world number 1 - Clancy Edwards.
I ran 4.3 and was a 400m runner. Top sprinters are faster than footballers, and the first 40 yards isn't where sprinters win races. Not even 60 m.
This is all football theater.
