Webb posted this on Twitter tonight. We know it's highly unusual to speculate about Alan Webb on this message board it might be fun to see what he could run. He's 34 years old.

Sounds like he's going to run a 66-67 too me
Runs 49 flat. Decides to go for comeback. Wins gold in 2020.
54.7
55 no problem
It really depends on how much fitness running he's been doing...and if any fartlek.
Webbs a super nice dude, wish him well.

I do not know him nor was I ever a big fan in spite of his great talent. But I do wish him a safe run and hope he enjoys his race. Still predicting a 66-67
yes. i'm the same age, ran 55 last summer in a corporate 4x4 off 20 mpw and strides twice a week. my mile pr of 421 is from 8 years ago and i only run during the summer now. webb could go 56 straight off the couch, 52-53 with 2-3 weeks training.
I will be there. If enough people want me to, I will take a video and post it on the page tomorrow night. Any takers?
I'll be there too. Hopefully the rain subsides for the racing.
Yes, take a video and post it on the page tomorrow night.
28 is not sub 60 shape no matter how you slice it, flying, blocks, standing, but it's close. It's not close to 56.
Webb is BACK baby!

I think the 28 was a teaser. He didn't say it was all out. I suspect it was mostly to see if that pace would result in a pulled hamstring. Unless he has been completely physically inactive, it's hard to see how a 28 would be all out for him until he is maybe 65 or 70 years old.

That would be very nice of you.
Are you running yourself?
What meet?
Alan Webb is BACK baby!
Love how's he can make fun of himself
Yesterday, his wife posted a pic of him on the track doing a workout. Looked fairly fit. I say 52.8.
Not sure I'd bank on a Triathlete crossing over to track and breaking 60s in a 400.
He's only 34 and hasn't been out of shape really at all. Sure, he's not training at a world level, but he is still a 3:46 guy. Dude will bust a mid to low 50. 53 or 54 at the least.

I have never gone faster than 27-mid and can easily run 56. Guessing that 28 wasn't a serious effort -- probably a stride. I predict 55.x
