Stop being whining. If a kid is easily injured with crap genetics, they should talk to the coach away from practice time to figure out easier work outs.
The example to start this thread didn't even give what I'd call a 'structured' work out. No paces were given and there were several options that should fit most runners. No one has time to make super special workouts so every single possible runner is made to feel good.
And I hate you for putting lol at the end. It's a filler that almost never makes sense and shows the author is between the ages of 9-22. Go to English class instead of whining here.
Why don't you go to English class yourself (e.g.,"Stop being whining") 😄. Yeah, sure - talk to these coaches about "easier workouts" so your kid doesn't keep getting hurt. Most of these "holier-than-thou" hot shot coaches have the imperious "my way or the highway" attitude! Not every kid has the great genetics like a Galen Rupp or Mary Cain. And if the school administrators encourage students to go out for XC & track, they ought to tell the coaches to power down on some kids that can't handle the workouts, mileage, etc.
I'm in my late 50s and still an avid runner for 35 yrs now despite a myriad of chronic injuries & OA of the ankle. And in the masters running club I belong to, I even get a few hot shot H.S. coaches preaching to me on how to run! 😠.
