Good marketing, although it's unlikely anyone succeeds. Which professional athletes would have the best chance of success? Discuss.

It can be done. No one since the record was set had an island on the line. Do you know how much people want to own their own island, especially NFL players? It will go down. The record will c-rumble.
Except it is a totally bogus offer by Adidas. As Deadspin points out, the fine print says Adidas can give the winner $1 million instead of an island, or nothing at all unless the winner signs an endorsement deal with Adidas, etc etc. A total scam. http://deadspin.com/deadspin-offers-island-and-one-million-dollars-to-first-1792824844
has to be run in adidas shoes and athlete must sign a deal with them too. adidas can back out at any time within a year and take back the island or money.
the real question is, what kind of island can you buy for $1M?

Closer to $500k, since the winner would owe tax on the $1M.
So many nike lovers on this thread. Enjoy your lives on the mainland.
Just pointing out that the winner would technically owe tax on the value of the island, too. Have fun writing that check!

Uh, that depends what country they come from. Not everyone in the world is from USA USA. More likely this goes to someone from Jamaica, Vicaut, Kilty, etc.
I've heard Revis Island ain't what it used to be.

How often to Jamaicans take part in the NFL combine?
Did he get the island? It looks like he was wearing Nikes
No island. Didn't attempt it again in different shoes either.
I guess that Adidas felt safe that nobody would break the record wearing their shoes.
