Carlin has to be the most overrrated unfunny "comedian" of all time. He rode his 7 words into fame and got lazy.

Robin Williams's "gimmick" was that he was endlessly creative and strange, not that he talked gibberish.
Robin Williams schtick was that he sucked. He wasn't funny in the least

How can this go six pages without anyone mentioning Ricky Gervais?
His Netflix special last year was exceptional.
Totally un-funny: "Fluffy". Whatever his real name is. I'm too lazy to look it up. I lasted 20 minutes of that particular Netflix special, as he droned on about having a milkshake.
There are some I don't find funny, but I assume it's just different tastes. They are popular for a reason. I'll tell you what's not funny. When a good comedian shows up high off his ass on something and can't do his routine. I've seen that happen, and it's not funny.
Ok I totally get any Schumer like it funny at all but Eric Andres show is freaking hilarious bro just because of how absurd it is
I think in terms of "naturally funny" (v. "trained funny.")
Without a lot of explanation, and just to show examples I think
Steven Colbert is not Naturally Funny, but very clever, intelligent.
Billy Crystal is n.f. and bright.
Jonathon Winters is n.f. and *creative.
George Carlin is n.f. and intelligent but scripted.
Kevin Hart is n.f. but not bright or creative.
Robin Williams is n.f., intelligent, and creative.
Chris Rock is not n.f. but clever and hip.
Bill Cosby is n.f. intelligent and creative.
Jack Benny is n.f. and clever.
Whoopi Golderg is n.f. and intelligent but not creative.
Eddy Murphy is creative and bright, but not n.f.
Jimmy Kimmel is n.f.
John Oliver is not n.f. but intelligent.
Ricky Gervaisse is n.f., intelligent, and creative.
Gracie Allen was n.f. AND very bright.
Lucille Ball was n.f. and creative.
...to do a few...
*By creative I generally mean subtle, inventive, and fast on his/her feet. I.e. "witty."
I omitted Steve Martin by accident--not n.f. but very creative, intelligent. I take it back: he is naturally funny!!
Belushi was slapstick.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you: Tracy Morgan.
Please, take him.
Is he really considered a comedian? I have never seen him say anything remotely funny. I always marveled how he got work on SNL . Watch the old shows with him and he never once memorized his lines ... he is so obviously reading the cue cards. Just terrible.
The guy who does the Daily Show is painfully unfunny, worse than the guy who came before him. I'll admit I've never watched the show but I've seen the commercials on Comedy Central lately. I have to assume they're trying to put forth the best clips in the commercials to draw people in, which is a frightening prospect for the full show.
Howard Stern is funny AF.
Jimmy Fallon

I've worked as an engineer for over 20 years. Have a BS and MS in engineering. One of my college roommates was a physics major-went on to get PhD from Berkeley. Another was a chemist-but no PhD. Another a geologist, also later a PhD.
I have known hundreds of engineers and scientists over the years. Not a single one would hang out in a comic book store. Only a handful have ever purchased anything in a comic book store-even as an 8 year old.
Big Bang Theory gets nerd culture completely wrong. The people who go to Star Trek conventions and collect comic books are generally not scientifically inclined. They are generally morons.

That is THE WORST show ever made.
My girlfriend (at the time) said I’m not a Nerd nerd because I’m actually smart (have a STEM degree). And that’s why none of her friends liked me. Because they said stupid sh!t all the time, pretending to be smart and I interject “it doesn’t work that way.”
Wholly unfunny bunch that spends too much time playing video games and watching anime. The severe lack of education and social skills makes them a bore to hang out with unless you’re also a proud HS drop out that spends more on game mods than groceries.
Since they WANT to seem intelligent and this gaming thing is really taking off, I can see why Big Bang appeals to a large audience.
Most of us probably remember when Comic-Con was small and niche. Now every city has a nerdicon. It’s trendy now to dress up and be a nerd for some reason and proselytize about zero point energy and big government.
Some of you really need to quit liking comedy. Putting a powerhouse like Louis C.K. (learn how to spell it you juveniles) in a list of not funny is just wrong. I dont care about suibjectivity. You're wrong.
Joey Koy to me is not funny at all? But everyone thinks so as he is like the top best comedy guy right now? I watched watched 20 minutes of his stand up and never laughed or even smirked once! His one story is about his mom and he speaks like her in broken English as she is Phillipino i believe? Hes goes..Josep!? Josep?! Over and over Josep. ?? I was irritated as hell! As my friend lovvvves him
I never got Steve Martin. He is just terrible. I do not get it.
Bill Engvall. Ugh.
No respect.
I used to think Bill Mahr wasn't that funny. Now that he is a grumpy old man, he is actually pretty hilarious.
