A 2:10 and 2:11 marathoner doing drills, Jammy.
A middle distance guy could be doing more than this, including stuff in his work cubicle.
I can agree with a few things.
OP is Douche Canoe.
And that it does in fact help to be very thin to run very efficiently and have good form however, you can still be carrying some muscle and do just fine. Don't believe me? Look up Bedan Karoki who just ran 59:10 in RAK, the guy is a stocky dude for running 4:30's for 13 miles.

Shorts over tights...
You're a disgrace to the lrc community.
Those shorts actually are pretty tight looking as well. Are they not just a painting of shorts incorporated onto the tights fabric?

Even if true, what does that have to do with the thread subject?

Speaking of form, the last time I was runner I bought a book and it said your arms should just dangle by your sides and you should let the meat of your body just hang on the bones. Totally not in today at all. Pump those arms and get a tight core.
The form guru who occasionally analyzes pro runners form after big races, (links to her blogs can be found on letsrun) points out how the talented African runners (like Bekele, and Geb) let their torso do a lot of twisting. In other words, they don't waste energy with their core muscles trying to keep their torso still, and pump their arms to generate counter motion for their legs. Instead, they use their powerful spine/torso muscles to twist back and forth. This generates the counter motion for their leg swing, with their arms just going along for the ride. Since the torso is such a large mass, very little additional twist can generate adequate counter motion, so you don't really notice it unless you're looking for it. Since the torso is generating the counter movement, the shoulder and arm muscles can be more relaxed and so overall, there is less energy expenditure. I've tried to focus on this when I'm running faster pace, and it does seem to help. My perceived effort seems less when I let my torso twist a little more than I'm used to. It seems to especially help with downhill running, which has never been my cup of tea.
Let's not get to caught up in form considering some of the fastest runners in the world have really whacky form.
Let's not forget Paula's whack form with her head seizing for 26 miles. Or Jeptoo who in Chicago looked like she was having a full body convulsion.
Lookin good txrunnergirl, your boobs grew you must be happy
Geb's unusual form was from carrying books
For fast and efficient distance form, watch this many times over:
Gotta love the ol' jamin post-and-ditch.
If jamin's post had any logic or credence whatsoever, then most world-class sprinters - sometimes rather bulky - would be said to have bad form. The opposite is true: they have the best form and neuromuscular coordination.

Then you need to know better and faster people. It's a HS move.
Shorts over tights would warrant being kicked off the team at my HS
