most devout Moslems are not in ISIS, most ISIS members are not devout.

Most Nazis never joined the SS, yet somehow they don't get a pass. As for ISIS, they are only acting on the actual word of the Q'ran; they prove their devotion with each body of a kafir they mutilate.

You think that it says in the Qu'ran to kill lots and lots of Muslims?
The pork eating, alcohol drinking, skirt chasing Isis and al-Qaeda recruits are devout?
The Q'ran instructs the faithful to kill blasphemers. Sunni and Shia regard each other as blasphemers. The ways and means are determined by opportunity and Arabic culture.

Let there be no compulsion in religion.
Al-Baqara 256
"If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
Matthew 18:6
Context is everything when referencing books thousands of years old.

This would be laughable if it wasn't so cynical and hypocritical.
What happens if a muslim attempts to leave the faith?
"(if) They emigrate in the way of God; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them..." Q'ran 4:89
Not much compulsion in that, eh?

Really, it doesn't matter much what the Koran says, even though it preaches intolerance and violence, because what matters is how its followers interpret those writings and apply them to today. Unfortunately, Islam is sliding into a medieval fundamentalist interpretation of the Koran. This interpretation does not distinguish between church and state, does not grant women full rights, and is intolerant of any other religion or political system. What we would consider to be a "moderate Muslim" would be a heretic to most Muslims around the world.
Islam is exactly what Liberals think Christianity is.

The majority of Muslims are decent, probably hard-working people, but a significant minority are complete trash. Around where I live I see them all the time, they're all beady-eyed and cloaked and will stare at you until you look away. I'm tired of it. These vermin are killing innocents by the thousands and we're supposed to just roll over and take it?? Why, because it's offensive to call them out? Because doing so might offend the innocent? So what! I wanna save lives, that's all. And thankfully we have an alpha-male President who has beat all odds from Day One who WILL take out that trash. Thank God

The thread is about concerns from an athlete who happens to be Muslim, and you are twisting it into blatant prejudice. You have no redeemable qualities. Worst person on this board by far. Well, exthrower gives you a good plod for the money. You guys aren't even runners.

Haha. That says a lot more about you to be honest.
Also the thousands being killed are all Muslims if you are referring to the Middle East.
The wars going on in multiple countries across the Middle East are complex and have nothing to do with you.
Except for the fact that your tax money helps fund it all directly.
Not sure why they took his phone in the first place. However, something is a little off if multiple kids from the university are becoming radicalized. Also, why would he be in Facebook tag of a guy who was a Senior in college when he was a JR in high school? The guy is probably a decent person and just wanted to run his races but still seems a little suspicious. "A search of Aber's phone led U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents to a photo on Facebook in which he was tagged along with Samir Halilovic. Halilovic is one of three University of Sherbrooke students believed to have left Canada in 2014 to join Islamist fighters in Syria"

Jeff mentions context and you immediately cite something out of context. The next verse "... So, if they hold aloof from you and wage not war against you and offer you peace, Allah alloweth you no way against them."
I'm not sure if people like you are simply ignorant or traitors.

Idiots
Delilah has a right to be upset. She is a young American woman from one of the most ethnically diverse areas of the country who is afraid she can no longer live her life the way she used to because of her religion. I doubt she has ever been political. Like most Moslems and Americans she wants to live, to continue to live the American dream.
