DOWN TO 65:11 pace for Peres Chepchirchir at 18K!! This will very likely happen barring a blowup at the current pace! What a beast! Keitany is dropped hard but Peres keeps going!
PERES DOWN TO 65:05 PACE, first time since 2K when they have actually dipped under record pace and just 2K left! History in the making!
Jepchirchir has dropped Keitnay who is 4 seconds athletes.
I think she can sniff the WR. She's on WR pace.
They need to show it!!!

Hutchings is saying 65:40 pace?? Seems like a mistake, 65:02 pace as of 20K!
Hutchings just blew it. Why aren't they on Helmut Wilmer's website. He just said they are on 65:40 pace. He's going to be shocked when she breaks the WORLD RECORD.
65:06 WORLD RECORD FOR PERES!!!

Man she looked like she was suffering the last mile (not to mention after crossing the finish line), but she did it.
What a freaking race. World half champion Peres Jepchirchir has broken the WR and then collapsed at the finish line. WHAT AN EFFORT.

Can the men break 59??
Not trying the a debbie downer her, but that was a death pace. From the start of the race you could see the struggle in the faces of the elite runners due to the pace
I like to see records set, but not like that. ...
I wanted more of a battle...it was kind of disappointing
Karoki with the 59:09/59:10 FTW
Augustine Choge 59:26! 35 second PB!
What a race from Peres! Wonder what Florence Kiplagat is thinking now as she gets ready to race in Barcelona on Sunday. Does she have the strength and fitness to reclaim this record from Perish?
Augustine Choge is a baller! If I were him I would stick to the roads from now on. At this rate of improvement he could debut in the marathon with a 2:03 by spring next year! Guess that is what you get from training with Eliud Kipchoge the best marathoner the world has ever produced.

Very versatile runner Augustine Choge
800-1:44.8
1500-3:29
3000-7:28
5000-12:53
Half Marathon 59:26
Says he will run the 10000 this year with a goal of a fast time and then winning the 10000 at the World Championships in London.
Note his best 10000 on the track is 28:22 at altitude, I will not be surprised if he goes under 27, maybe 26:30's-26:40's, I still think Farah beats him, but who really knows?

What part of record attempt did you not understand?
Almost the same PRs as Mo, plus the 1:44

With those top, elite runners I was expecting more of battle...Before the race, no one said anything about the runners going after the record. That wasn't acknowledged until the pace sped up to a death pace.
Even the announcers stated that the pace was insane, and the winner collapsed at the finish line.....Like i said, I like to see records set, but not like that.
Just my opinion...nothing more.
An incredible race. I'm jumping on the Choge bandwagon. What an achievement. Congratulations to Mr. Choge. What range, what a career!
With a bit of luck, Mo will have his hands full at both 5 and 10 at worlds this year.
