Definitely the best use of the word "devastated".

There are Trump supporters and haters on both teams. This was not about politics.

Guys, up here in Canada I'm confused. Why is this a political thing for you?
I have been to Atlanta and Boston and I thought Boston was much more liberal. Massachusetts is obviously a blue democrat state. And hasn't Georgia been a red republican state forever?
I'm surprised U.S. conservatives want a team from one of the most liberal places to beat a team from a conservative state.
Oh, and Trump saying the Patriots win was "what America needed"? How is that?
It was a fun game to watch, anyway. The way some Americans make a political thing over a sports game is pretty funny, too!
It has nothing to do with geography, it has to do with the composition of the two teams. The Patriot players and coaches are generally supporters of the Republican Party, and of President Trump specifically.
They have the most politically incorrect coaching staff in the NFL, with only two minority members out of 14.
But despite those crippling shortcomings, they won. As a result, the Patriots team is now perceived as a representative of the best of White America, the best of Trump's America.
The Falcons, on the other hand, have a liberal Jewish owner. By composition, outlook, and temperament, the team is seen as being much more representative of a multicultural, all inclusive, forward looking society that many Americans of the Democratic persuasion prefer. But they lost.
Trump publicly picked the Patriots to win, so, unfortunately, Trump is seen as a winner yet again. That's why the Falcon's loss is so utterly devastating to a certain population of Americans. They simply don't know how to win against Trump and are getting despondent.
Blew a 3-1 lead
All of the Falcon's balls are deflated!
So Trump has won the Super Bowl now as well as the presidency. America should be renamed Trumpland.
I think we know who has this years "Shoulda Woulda Coulda Award in Sports" wrapped up.
I was waiting for Tom Brady in his post-game interview to say, "Well, that is what champions do"
#12 needed to have a "Bradybot" ready for this one.

It was totally unacceptable and, dare I say it, deplorable, for the NFL to let the racist, homophobic, misogynist Patriots win this game. What were they thinking?
all you trumpies are ruining my enjoyment of that comeback. why should any liberal root for the atlanta falcons from red state ga? brady had one awful pass that took them out of range for much of the game but his receivers were awful for much of the game, dropping many passes and being dominated by the falcons' secondary until late in the game. then they actually started catching the ball. five titles with an ever-changing cast in New England has to tell you that Brady and Bellichick are two of the all-time greats, even if their non-football iq is sub-normal.

Wow. Not THAT is BUTTHURT!!
"Why should any [good little] liberal root for the Atlanta Falcons from red state GA?", you say? Oh, I don't know, maybe because seeing everything in the red state/blue state mantra is about as dumbed-down and simple-minded as you can get? Maybe because not every liberal is as easily brainwashed and obsessed with trying to fit their masters' mold as you are? Maybe because Atlanta itself is known as being THE hip African American city in the country? Need I go on? How dumb are you?
Kraft - Belichick - Brady - TRUMP. You and Trump received emmense joy out of the same comeback last night. Deal with it... you RACIST!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA
Hey there's a new dance going around town that's a offshoot of "The tWerk"...it's called "The tRump" and it's easy to do...just fall on your rump over and over again.
Guess what, normal people don't make weird leaps to make a football team they have supported their whole lives political. Coaches and players change over the years. I've been a patriot fan my whole life and yesterday's win was awesome. It had nothing to do with who Tom Brady's wife voted for or who the coach voted for.
Yes, I am republican, but that win had nothing to do with Trump.

On the 20 yard line. Should have just ran it til 4th down and kick a field goal. Up by 11 (2 scores) would have clinched it. Instead you get a sack and a penalty. Oops.
Exactly right. That was coaching malpractice.
But I think we need a rule change:
1) Sudden death should not decide a Super Bowl. Too much hinged on that coin flip. Just play an 8 minute quarter or something.
2) Atlanta should have been given the call on said coin flip because the Patriots got to call it at the start of the game.
3) They should have let Barbara flip the coin for overtime.

This. This right here. Shanahan needlessly put Ryan in harm's way twice in the fourth quarter, and it backfired. But, an elite team doesn't give up 25 unanswered points in a little over a quarter. The Patriots needed a lot of luck to win, from the crazy "Amendola catch" to the two-headed coin flip in OT. Belicheck should give Shanahan some of his bonus money for such poor play calling late in regulation.
Got to give it to Brady though. I will officially concede he is the goat now.

To you, perhaps it did not.
But it had everything to do with Trump to the rest of the world. This satisfying victory served as a stunning validation of Trump's commitment to make us all winners again. It set the spirits of freedom and liberty soaring gloriously over our resurgent country. It is a shining affirmation of those truths which we hold to be self evident.
Let us rejoice in this victory, for we can now go courageously forth and work with a renewed faith to Make America Great Again.
This is BS. The Falcons won 75% of the game, they should be the winners.
Anyone interested in going to a Falcon Fan March in DC?
