I got hit by a car this morning on my run. I'm starting this thread more because I was so stunned by the reaction from others.
I run very early so no one else was out and the guy who hit me was the only other car around. He ran a red light making a right turn. I almost got across the intersection out of the way but he got me and sent me sprawling. I'm kind of stunned and getting up checking myself out. He asks if I'm ok, I say I think so. He says ok, I have to get to work and speeds off. No I didn't get his plate. Sorry to inconvenience him and delay him 15 seconds on his commute.
I was about 3 miles from home and I decided to try and run home. About a mile from home the pain was killing me and I had to start walking. I passed a gas station about half a mile from home. I asked all three people there if I could get a ride home as I was limping pretty severely and in a lot of pain. I showed them the scrapes from the accident and explained what had happened. Not one person would give me a ride or showed a bit of sympathy. I was badly scraped but no bleeding and not dirty so nothing that would have messed up their car.
I had to limp the rest of the way home. Probably will need a few days to let my foot recover but could have been much worse. But I can't believe how unwilling to help a person out all these individuals were. What happened to the good Samaritan. Is this normal now or did I just happen to meet a couple jerks?
