For the titular question, we don’t feel like crap because when we do feel like crap, we just go to the loo and let the crap out. Then we don’t feel like crap for a while again.

Restorative yoga
Our company is housed in an office building with a basement gym. Every couple of hours I go down there and do a brisk 10-minute walk on the treadmill.

Huge.
Seriously I think when you're hard at work for 1-2 hours (I code), I start hunching and just glare at the screen so hard that I think it hurts me.
Realistically the best would be to set a timer for every 25 mins and then walk away from the screen, do a stretch or some pushups and 3rd world squats.
Get one of those balls to sit on
A couple times a day do the yoga squat for one minute. Maybe in a single stall bathroom so no one thinks you’re whacky.
I wouldn't know. I work hard every day and still manage 100 mile weeks. I mean, at the end of the day do some core work, stretch, and most importantly grow a pair.
Stand up and walk often. I'll walk to people's offices for short discussions. I also try to do my runs during the day to break up the time in meetings.

I dunno... somebody might try this on top of the toilet... and fall in. Then come the accusations of attempting an upper decker.

Haha yeah
I was in Africa and the “toilet” was a hole in the floor. Had to yoga squat every time you did number 2. No wonder they’re so fast :)
Lifting 2-3 times a week is essential for me. I'm a software engineer and I try to maintain good posture. Some of my coworkers are in their late 20s and already have horrendous posture. You have to actively fight it in my opinion.
