The DMR is 4km total and they just ran 10:40.31 for the new indoor wr. In Bekele's 5k wr, he split a 10:07.93 4k, then followed through with another 1k in like 2:30.
Goes to show how much faster men are.

10:40 is 64 seconds per lap. That is 13:20 5k pace.
The record is still super weak. It should be at least 10:25
Hes muslim should be banned from running

^^ If an elite DMR was put together at the end of summer, I would assume splits would look something like-
308-310
50
159
418
What if there was a World allstar dmr team for men with PR-like performances?
Makhloufi-2:42
vanNiekerk-43
Rudisha-1:41
Kiprop-3:42
8:48!!

Kennster is not a muzzie, but a good Christian.
What if Kenya women ran this obscure DMR event?

Exactly, why do you think the great north run in 2013 was not just Bekele vs Mo, it was good vs evil.
It was the skinny and hungry African native vs the British Lord.
don't think that is possible:
These times are a bit you fast.
Sub 9:00 would be possible for a very good team.
1200 = 2:45
400 = 44
800 = 1:43
1600 = 3:48 or a little faster.
Would make sub 9:00 just possible,
Even though your point still applies, please use his indoor WR.

Makh Daddy is fast, but the 2:42 I feel is the most generous of the 4. All of those guys would have to be in peak peak form. Maybe do a DMR at one of the DL meets mid summer? But if it's a relay, you really should split it up by nationality.
For USA for instance, have
Andrews 2:48
Merritt 43.5 (3:31.5)
Murphy 1:43 (5:14.5)
Centro 3:47.5 (9:02) 9:02
Again, that 9:02 is everyone in peak form and of course, unless you put them up against teams like Kenya, Ethiopia, GB, then they won't be pushed and these times are unlikely. Everyone on this DMR is a racer, not a time trialer.

Andrews 2:58
Merritt 43.5 (3:41.5)
Murphy 1:45 (5:26.5)
Centro 3:57.5 (9:24) 9:24
Andrews or Centro pushing the pace, thats a good one.
347 for centro too lol you think he's capable of running a top 10/15 mile time ever?!
kiprop isn't gonna run a 3:42 lol

It works need to be a race, yes. Best at go get this done would be Africa vs US vs the world at a DL meet.

High school freshman boys can put together a DMR much faster than 10:40. Possibly even 7th-8th graders. Therefore, I'm not that shocked that the world's greatest distance runner can beat it by himself.

It's weak in terms of what is theoretically possible, yea. But because it's not an Olympic event, you don't get the same depth pool. You'll never get the fastest possible team because no one sponsor can lay claim to the top runner in each event. New Balance has a great team for this record but would never have invited a Nike/Brooks/Adidas athlete onto the team even for 10's of seconds. Its weak cuz of politics - but in that light its probably pretty strong.
I say make the DMR and outdoor event, might even get some public interested, but that's none of my business......
Super weak record and yet this is being promoted like a great achievement by sites seeking clicks/readership, shoe companies, agents, and athletes. In other words, anyone with a vested interest in making it seem noteworthy.
