No way that the IOC will award the olympics to a country that bans travelers from IOC member countries.
Was fun while the bid lasted I guess.

Good. Hosting the Olympics is a terrible idea.
Considering how the Olympic trials marathon was handled, I'd say that's a good thing.
A whole lot can change in the next 9 months. Way too soon to write it off.

This is somewhat correct. See #33.3 in the Olympic Charter.
https://stillmed.olympic.org/Documents/olympic_charter_en.pdfThe national government of the country of any applicant city must submit to the IOC a legally binding instrument by which the said government undertakes and guarantees that the country and its public authorities will comply with and respect the Olympic Charter.
I'm not sure how "legally binding" something can be when the national courts will be the ultimate arbiter (excluding something like EU law where the countries aren't really sovereign), but that's what it is.
However, with 2024 in mind, the Trump rules are temporary (90 days), and can be individually waived of course.
On the other side, Iran is set to host the Women's World Chess Championship in a week, but I guess the top 2 USA women already boycotted over safety/hijab issues. Still, the ones who replace them might well miss out in the end.
Budapest is nice
The IOC should demonstrate that they are not part of the blatant Trump discrimination and hold the Olympics in Syria or one of the other countries that Trump hates on.
Take a stand IOC!
It will be in LA and Mexico will pay for it.
Dude, china and Russia have both hosted within the past 10 years. China is even hosting again! USA will be fine.
IOC will award the Olympics to any country that pays them enough.

China doesn't bar people from specific countries because of their religion. Yes, they are shitty - but it is at least "officially" on a case by case basis.

How many Syrians has China let in?

No idea, a better question would be "how many Syrians has China turned away?" - because that is what we are talking about.
The bidding system is not about the leader but about the payola.
Remember, this same committee had no problem with China's direct and obvious conflicts with the Olympic charter. No problem in Russia with the "winter" games in Sochi either.
If Trump and his buddies can make a buck under the table like so many IOC members, then it REALLY is all good.

Dude, you really need to read up on civil liberties in China before you dismiss how much crap the IOC had to overlook when awarding the games--twice!--to China in a 14 year span of time.

Why not? The IOC allows member nations like Saudi Arabia and Iran to exclude Israelis and Jews. Competitors from those nations have even forfeited matches to avoid them.
However, I think that this does not help LA2024's chances. I do think that the money that would flow into IOC coffers would give it a better chance that if this were another country.
As others noted, the IOC awarded the Games to Russia and China over the years. Neither country has a human rights record anywhere near as good as the US has.
But I hope Trump does not realize LA is bidding so he does not try to help.

It's OK, California's going to sucede from the US...

Refugees go where they know they get in. Every time some country changes their immigration politics word is on the street in Mogadishu, Kabul, Aleppo and such places in a matter of days.
