always unfortunate when they ask for a rabbit to hit a certain pace and then don't even bother to follow it, but that was a convincing performance by obiri. I don't think it was ever in doubt that she was going to win that race. Solid PRs by both hissan (4+ seconds) and rowbury (5+ seconds) as well. Rowbury moves from 11th to 6th (just ahead of simpson) on the AT US list.

For reference on Brazier's 1:16.57, Cas Loxsom's AR is 1:15.33 and Boris Berian ran 1:15.51 last year, Solomon's PB is 1:15.70
Is Loxsom's time from PSU today not the AR now? Is there some track technicality that makes it not count? -

I believe that should be the WR now, it just probably wasn't noticed in time for everything to be updated. -
Could Watson (the rabbit) have pushed the pace even more and hung on to win? I would have been pissed and tried. What a waste of a rabbit.
-
Lauren Wallace, the rabbit, could definitely not have hung on for much longer.
I doubt she's capable of breaking 9min for 3k, so hitting 4:44 solo was probably tough enough for her -

I'm assuming you mean lauren Wallace? She split 420 for 1500 en route to a mile last week and with no 3000 on record there is no way she was going to keep going near that pace. -
3k is off. Great race on paper. Chelimo, Gebhriwet, Murphy, Jenkins, etc.

Yes, my mistake. Newborn twins have killed my sleep and thus my brain.

murphy...8:03. you heard it here first -
800 runners and the 3k are like Teg and the 10k.
-
I love watching chelimo run. Go army. Great salute

Lalang is officially the worst rabbit in history. Goes out way too fast and then stays in the race, tripping on Chelimo and putting his hand on him...
-
chelimo 7:42
butchart 7:42
gebrhiwet 7:43
jenkins 7:44
lalang 7:45
gebremeskel 7:46
g heath 7:46

Isn't Murphy a 8/15 guy, not really a pure 800 runner. -

Eh, but he stayed in and finished, so was he really a rabbit? -

46-mid / 1:42.93 / 3:36 is pretty definitively a pure 800 guy. Assuming he's capable of 3:34 or so, he might be an 800 guy with a lean towards the endurance side.
He's basically got Symmonds' PRs with a slightly faster quarter. -

I'm sure everyone cringed when the announcer talked about George Banister going sub 4 for the first time.
I absolutely cringed at that! Who is this new moron announcer? I'm no big Tom Hammond fan but at least he would get Bannister's name right.
So you're saying you miss Larry Rawson and Dwight Stones, huh? -
If NBC insists on having a non-track "play-by-play" guy, at least bring back Kenny Albert. He generally stayed in his lane, gave his little factoids, but let the analysts do the heavy lifting. Though pairing him with Hutchings didn't hurt.

for those watching the NB grand prix, be on WR watch in the womens DMR.
splits for WR were 3:15, 53, 2:05, 4:27. shouldnt be that tough to beat
